Very true kiloughter about Galway teams / fans having probably the best record of any county when it comes to not resorting to cynicism, clean play etc. In fact Galway have often been criticised for NOT being cynical in order to win matches. I think squidword knows that too. I don't think anyone forgets the scenes of some of the Louth fans assaulting the ref in the Leinster final of 2010. Now I and most neutrals were supporting Louth who were definitely cheated out of that final but assaulting the ref was not the way to go about rectifying it.

Lads you cant compare a Galway-Meath match to a Louth-Meath game. Its like comparing a Galway-Mayo/Roscommon to a Louth-Mayo/Roscommon. A Louth/Meath rivalry is an often bitter one which goes back to the 40s and 50s. Them Louth fans should not have attcked Sludden in the Leinster final. But their emotions caught the better of them. Remember 1960 was the last time that Louth was in a Leinster final before that and they last won the Leinster in 1957. Martin Sludden did not help himself. When that final whistle went he should have went straight down the tunnel. What was he doing? Handing out cards. Anyway that was then and this is now. Best of luck for the rest of the season.
