Fiontán Ó Curraoin and Johnny Duane are back in the Galway football squad.

Their return comes hots on the heels of Sean Armstrong's decision to come out of retirement after two years. Towering midfielder Ó Curraoin returns after missing this year's championship campaign with a groin problem. Duane, who won an All-Ireland U21 medal alongside Ó Curraoin in 2011, rejoins the panel after a 12-month stay in the US. He captained New York in their narrow Connacht SFC first round loss to Roscommon last May.

According to Galway Bay FM, Ronan Steede, Michael Farragher, Micheál Lundy, Ian Burke and Kieran Molloy are also on board for the coming season.
