Corofin are just 60 minutes away from completing a remarkable seven-in-a-row of Frank Fox Cup triumphs after seeing off Salthill/Knocknacarra by 1-16 to 2-9 at Tuam Stadium.

Kevin O'Brien's back-to-back All-Ireland champions will face the winners of tomorrow's clash between Tuam Stars and Moycullen in what will be their 12th county final in 14 years after leading from pillar to post against the Seasiders.

A fortutious goal from Ronan Steede, which came after the ball slipped through the hands of goalkeeper Ruadhri Lavelle, helped Corofin to a commanding 1-9 to 0-4 interval lead, but second half majors from Robert Finnerty (penalty) and Andrew Butler meant they didn't have things all their own way against Anthony Finnerty's charges.

It was an afternoon of double disappointment for Salthill/Knocknacarra who also lost to Glenamaddy in the JFC final, which was played as a curtain-raiser to the SFC semi-final.
