Tuam Stadium redevelopment receives €50,000 sponsorship boost

It's not all bad news for Galway GAA this week.

With Supermac’s calling on the Galway county board to give details on how sponsorship money they’ve provided has been spent, The Development Advocates for Tuam Stadium (DAFTS) have announced a €50,000 sponsorship for the installation of more than 1,800 seats on the new terraced area at the stand side of the ground.

The generous donation was made by local business Tommy Varden Ltd who have sponsored Galway football for over 20 years.

The late Tommy Varden was a driving force behind the redevelopment of Tuam Stadium and served as chairman of the DAFTS committee.

It's hoped that the new seating will be ready in time for Saturday evening's SFC semi-final clash between Corofin and Salthill-Knocknacarra.
