Galway star Niall Burke delivered a man-of-the-match performance to help Oranmore-Maree secure Connacht Club IFC success this afternoon.
The Galway champions emerged victorious on a scoreline of 1-20 to 1-15 against Tooreen of Mayo at Athleague.
Burke contributed 1-10 to his side’s winning tally and his goal arrived on the stroke of half-time to send Oranmore-Maree in at the break with a 1-9 to 0-8 advantage.
Shane Boland pulled a goal back for the Mayo side in the second-half but their challenge suffered with the dismissal of Conor Henry and David Kenny following separate incidents.
