Peters could be the second Wexford school to lift the Hogan Cup in the last 18 years , not bad for a hurling county Teddy5 (Wexford) - Posts: 122 - 23/03/2017 13:35:52 1970390 Link 0 |

Council were beaten in the Leinster Semi by Mote who St Peters then went on to beat - handy enough in the end

I was an ex St Peters pupil. So well done to them. You would have to favour the Kerry lads though given the Kingdom's reputation in Gaelic football. But well done and good luck to the SPC (state prison camp) LOL as it was affectionately known. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2519 - 23/03/2017 15:51:25 1970454 Link 0 |
Feck they must be really good so if they beat good counsel, as good counsel beat this Brendan's team well a few years back. A Brendan's team that had David Clifford Could be interesting on Saturday week. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 23/03/2017 15:59:21 1970460 Link 0 |
st peters a duel school which supports gaa in both codes and not to leave out handball. that is what makes reaching an all ireland football final the more remarkable but it is allso what makes competing with kilkenny schools in hurling near impossable. best of luck in final !! tonydoranfan (Wexford) - Posts: 550 - 23/03/2017 16:10:12 1970465 Link 1 |
Going by that Peters must be very good as that Brendans team from 2 years ago was really good ( a lot of them have won AI Minor and Hogan Medals since) The game will be on the TG4 online service on Fools Day KYTotalFootball (Kerry) - Posts: 280 - 23/03/2017 16:27:38 1970473 Link 0 |
The best player on that good counsel team 2 years ago was Thomas O'Connor who scored 2-6 or 2-8 in the final,he's now over at Southampton talented all round sportsman and actually from tullogher rosbercon in kilkenny, was a decent hurler also I've been told

Sound wexico now that you mentioned It i remember hearing the name at the time and that he'd be one to watch out for in the future, didn't realise he was a Kilkenny man though.

49 years? I see what you done there. Let's double your 49. In the last 98 years. Wexford have won 5 hurling All-Irelands and were runners-up 7 times (by the way all of these were in the last 65 years). In the same period (98 years) they have never appeared in an AI football final.

For starters it's not the same team as some lads wo played two years ago would have left the following year. Good councel had a few lads injured in Leinster semi. If they had all available they would have given peters a good push for Leinster.

Yeah yeah yeah and I see what you did there as well Cockney Cat! Now try going back 102 years and see what the computer says :) Congrats to St Pete's but Rathnure St Annes all the way for me :) My cousin's husband, a certain Seamus Murphy used to play for them. That's as close to fame as I'm ever likely to get! MedwayIrish (Wexford) - Posts: 2324 - 23/03/2017 20:00:07 1970526 Link 0 |
