Cork Versus Waterford

(Oldest Posts First)

Much improved display from Cork. Fought for every ball and good teamwork.
Waterford seemed flat, but Cork defense didn't allow them time on the ball.
The 2 Cahalanes did well, as did Bill Cooper.

On Seó Spóirt the other night they were saying how poor Cork are...

Great fight from cork which is great to see. 1-21is a decent score in a heavy pitch like Walsh park. Waterford don't have an outstanding forward like, tj Reid, seamus callanan or canning that they need to get them over the line. Both teams will give Kilkenny or Tipp all they want over a game but will come up short. Think we seen a preview of the final last night.

Saw evidence of very good teamwork, especially in defense,
Not bad when Pat Horgan comes on as sub.
Shane Kingston and Luke Meade will improve as they mature...they ooze skill and speed.
Diarmuid O' Sullivan is doing a job with the full back line
Tipperary and their full forward line next up...will be interesting.

very dissappointed from a waterford point of view...i think the camp where looking at cork and dublin as safe 4 points. couldnt travel today so listened on radio...sounded like cork hurled like cork of old, quick snappy and clinical. fully deserved of the victory. scratching my head thinking about our campaign...struggled in opening 35 v dublin before powering home...unmerciful hard game v clare left in ennis...the last place in the country id want to go...great display by the banner today. too many big names for us not performing, austin playing all over the place...only leaves me to think there holding back for championship, hopefully anyway, huge improvement needed....well done our rebel neighbours again on a well earnt 2 points

Fight is vital in all games. It's a given requirement. You need firepower to comlement it.Scores on the board is what count at the end of the day.

First day out against Clare, I thought I saw something that gave me a bit of hope only to have it brutally snuffed out by Dublin in very next game.
Surprised & delighted with today but we have taken too many kicks in the behind in recent years to get ahead of ourselves.
Can't see us getting anything out of Tipp game so our fate whether we make the quarters or face a relegation play off is likely to depend on results elsewhere.
Any & every win means the world to Cork hurling fans at the moment so we will just bank today and see how we go next day.

Definitely a more positive attitude from the Rebels since start of the year.

A lot of negativity when we lose. Maybe some overreaction when we win too. The results in this league tell us Tipp are good and that we probably should reserve judgment on the others.

Earlier, I stated that there was a certain overreaction from KK players that led to Cork players being booked in the last game. Yesterday, the Shanahan sending off was deeply regrettable. I do not blame the ref. The reaction of Dean Brosnan after the slightest of touches was embarrassing. I hate this aspect of hurling.

Surprised that Dean Brosnan ( a Glen clubman) would react like that.
Changing times indeed

Only way Cork can get relegated is if draw in Ennis between Clare and Waterford.
Cork beat both already.
Wouldn't be surprised to see KK lose to Dublin.

That is correct Rockies, it would be great to have a quarter final to look forward.
I agree with Bennybunny that Brosnan over-reacted which is never a nice thing to see, hopefully the Management will have a word in his ear.
On a happier note, great to see Michael Cahalane back in a red jersey.
