Nobody comes close to Muircheartaigh. Of the current crop Daragh Maloney is the best. Brain Carty is good too but RTÉ seem to have put him in the back seat in recent years on radio. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11230 - 15/02/2017 20:22:13 1957249 Link 0 |

no one has mentioned commentators from another era..Micheal O'Hehir...he was Micheal O'Muireheartagihs predecessors as in favourite..last all Ireland to commentate was 1984 Centenary All Irelands...Mick Dunne (Laois) was a very good commentator too...your man from Roscommon in 1980's Tom Rooney(he died at a young age)...yer man Liam Nolan that used to commentate on "Sports Scene" presented by Brendan O'Reilly and Liam Nolan used to commentate....people dismiss the Sky commentators etc on GAA but I purposely listened to them on a few matches this year and they are different and interesting in their own right....Jim Carney....
