The season ticket is in theory a brilliant idea, but the application is majorly flawed. The problem the GAA ticket have outlined, are wrong if it has been abused, but the GAA abuses the Season ticket holders loyalty as well. If your county doesn't play in Croke Park, then your seating arrangement for championship matches are appalling. Especially when it comes to Ulster Championship matches in Clones. I have had a Monaghan season ticket since its inception, but year on year i'm left frustrated by the poor allocation of seating by the ulster council. It seems the season ticket holders are the last to be allocated seats. With tickets being bought through clubs, supervalu and even general sale on match day availing of better seating. The ulster final in 2015 was a disgrace with our view of the goal at the town end in Clones completely blocked by the television camera on the sideline. Last year we had to stand in a terrace in Breffni Park for the ulster Semi Final even though we paid for a stand ticket. shaggylegend (Monaghan) - Posts: 1923 - 13/02/2017 21:48:54 1956423 Link 1 |
If your county doesn't play in Croke Park, then your seating arrangement for championship matches are appalling. Trust me, the treatment is as bad even if your county does play in Croke Park. I'm constantly shafted when it comes to my seats. I was seated in block 309 row MM for the games on Saturday. Now don't get me wrong, i know they're good seats but usually season tickets holder are between 306 and 307. My friend bought her tickets a few days before the game and got block 306 row Q. Now given the weather on Saturday i was glad to be back under shelter but the fact that a person can buy tickets a day or 2 before a game and get better seats than a season ticket holder that's supposed to be rewarded for their loyalty, really p*sses me off. The same happens when the championship comes around, my tickets for the Championship are for the Upper Tier, last year i was seated in 708 row V or W (2 rows from the back wall of Croker) yet friends could buy tickets in Centra for 706 row B or C. When i query it with the GAA I'm told the seats are 'randomly allocated' yet I'm seated beside the same people EVERY time. Not a chance they're randomly allocated seats. There's no loyalty to those of us that attend all the games. Rant over :) GaaGaa78 (UK) - Posts: 285 - 14/02/2017 11:16:56 1956585 Link 0 |
Season ticket holders are treated poorly in my own opinion by the GAA, for the Mayo v Galway champ match last year season ticket holders were sent to either ends of the main stand or told it's full and to stand outside in another part of the terrace in the rain, in regards to Croke Park I have never sat in the same seat for different games, always being moved around, there should be no attendance records needed, if you paid the 100 euro through Croke Park or 200 euro through your county board that should be enough for an All Ireland Final ticket if your county is involved, this 60% attendance needed is a joke, I can pay this money and go to majority of the games, spend a fortune all through the League and Championship with travelling, staying in hotel or B&B, food etc ( you can easily spend 1000 or 2000 euro per year following your county) while some person who doesn't go to any game can buy a final ticket through his/her local GAA club and gets a good seat in the Hogan Stand and gets to attend the All Ireland Final just spending 80 euro for a ticket plus a few bob for petrol and food, who is the fool? It's time the GAA showed some respect for season ticket holders, do away with the attendance records for final tickets, use the attendance records as a gift for loyalty such as better seats in Croke Park, anyway we paid for our tickets and whether the GAA like it or not it is up to us what to do with our ticket, now trying to swipe 2 or 3 tickets by 1 person is taking the p##s riverboys (Mayo) - Posts: 1389 - 14/02/2017 22:24:39 1956909 Link 1 |
