Who said that the Dubs don't travel!

The Dubs travelled in numbers yesterday, and added a carnival atmosphere with their music, wit and good football! It was a great occasion for football, pity that the ref didn't change his jersey!

Nothing to do with the referee.
The Dubs won without breaking sweat and could have won by 15 points. They fisted points when goals were on two or three times and kicked 11 wides. I hope our lads learned from them as it's great to play against the best, it should bring the Cavan team on.

They are a great team and they have great supporters.

Can Mayo posters please stop crying about referees its really getting old at this stage, also can a certain Mayo forward stop doing back flip dives everytime he bends down to pick up the ball.

He actually changed it at half time. Dublin may have got couple frees handier but had no bearing on result. Far superior team. Great fans. Pleasure to be at game.

Did he not mean the refs actual Jersey no? Watched the first half and refs top was black and very like the Dubs jersey, was confusing on tv anyways..

Hey fifty, maybe ye should have a got a Dublin forward to change to a Mayo jersey and ye might have won something.
(genuinely like Mayo and their fans so no disrespect in general)

The dubs getting soft decisions? Nah that can't be right.

Fair play - honest assessment.

Best of luck to Cavan in 2017

Conspirocey, in rural decline, mass emigration and bad weather shocker.

Something needs to be done.

Cavan has a large settlement of dubs in the last ten years so in many ways it was a home game for Dublin. It was like when the English premier league teams go to Asia to play in front of fans that can't make it England. Same way the game in Breffni gave the thousands of Dubs living in Cavan the chance to see them play.

Kerry have had lots of help from referees too. A certain game in Limerick comes to mind. The better teams will always get more decisions because they're attacking more and have ball more. Only a couple of decisons were soft. As I said no bearing on result.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with the point you are making par se, But there is a huge difference between travelling 1 hour 30 minutes from Cavan to Dublin as oppose to travelling from China/Japan/Thailand etc to Manchester for a Man united game. The Island of Ireland isn't very big, there are states in the USofA 2 or 3 times the size of Ireand, There is no excuse in 2017 for a fan not being able to get to a Dublin game whether they live in Dublin, Cork, Donegal or Mayo providing of course they have the financial ability to do so, Its so bloody easy.... But I get what you are saying.

As for the OP .. Fair play 50, you caught a good few here.

Did Cavan have no wides?

I am from Cavan living in Mayo! I had no gripe with the ref other than starting game in similar colour, I have often been at matches where ref asked goalkeeper change their jersey, it was only a comment! As why it should lead to comments on Mayo football???? I am sure Mayo will answer that question in September!!! Well done again to the Dubs, but the rest are learning!!!
