Another hugely decorated hurler retires. What a tremendous corner back. Tough as they come. Brianmac78 (Dublin) - Posts: 1168 - 11/11/2016 12:45:10 1933564 Link 1 |

And Kerry have won 10 and Kilkenny 15. Although, I don't know what any of this has to do with anything.

enjoy your retirement, you've earned it. A great example of how to play hard and fair without all the crap which has crept into football to try and gain an advantage and a gent off the field to boot. bulmccabe (Tyrone) - Posts: 361 - 11/11/2016 19:59:10 1933678 Link 0 |
Best of luck Jackie you winded a few lads in your day but some defender you were. 9 all Ireland medals is some achievement. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 11/11/2016 21:01:20 1933691 Link 0 |
I was at my first munster final in 1971 and all ireland final in 1972. Between both finals I have only missed 3 since. Ive been to 18 leinster finals as well. I can't think of a better corner back that I've seen. onlyhurling (Galway) - Posts: 800 - 11/11/2016 21:08:24 1933692 Link 0 |

What better tribute than to exploit his retirement for a petty and irrelevant point about people's personal dislike of a completely different sport.

Just making the point.that people on this forum are more interested in attacking rugby than.praising one of the greatest players ever, I note you didn't see fit to pay tribute yourself janesboro (Limerick) - Posts: 1502 - 29/11/2016 18:29:38 1937318 Link 0 |
It's a discussion board Janesboro and I'd agree with all the tributes to him on here. Now if someone was to come on with a daft opinion or just made up nonsense over and over like 'he was weak in the air and bottled big games' then this would run to many pages. 'Luckily' there are a couple of rugby posters who do make up such nonsense on them threads so they tend to last longer. Soma (UK) - Posts: 2630 - 29/11/2016 19:53:27 1937353 Link 2 |
