Is each county's finance report publicly available? If so where can they be viewed? wicklu (Wicklow) - Posts: 331 - 17/10/2016 22:20:45 1927111 Link 1 |
They should be publically available and in this day and age they should be on your county's GAA website, I know the Kerry County Board publish on-line their records every year on KerryGAA.ie around the time of the county convention.

Same with Dublin (for example): http://www.dublingaa.ie/news/the-dublin-gaa-annual-report I am sure all GAA bodies must do this. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4892 - 18/10/2016 13:32:45 1927237 Link 0 |
Should be but there not & some of the sleight of hand in some cases is nothing but sailing close to fraudulent. At club level some of what's going on is shocking & leading to massive division & members leaving & clubs left in debt. So that my post is published I will give two examples but not naming individuals, clubs or counties. In one case a club paying senior management were taking cash from lotto funding prior to lodging so as it wouldn't appear in end of year accounts. This operation was openly denied, yet they couldn't explain why for the first time in the history of that club they ended up with a massive five figure deficit ! Another club paid an outside manager but after year two he decided to jump ship having achieved nothing & as the club was in debt & hadn't the money to pay the final sum, a fund from the juvenile section was used to pay the mercenary manager now with another victim, sorry club. My point being that some members of these clubs aware of this behaviour are also involved in their county set up, which begs the question, where accounts are not fully transparent, what is going on ?
