Is this guy having a laugh?!

As Jack McCartney said, you could list 1000 other people that'd be more deserving of All Irelands tickets over members of the Seanad.

That makes the blood boil the sense of entitlement from this fella and the other 2 lassies in the senate.

You would think the Seanad would have other things to worry about! Oh wait!

As I said at the time, "sure them all a few tickets each, the genuine supporters don't need to attend. Just give the tickets to the over paid paper pushers!"
I bet they wouldn't care if Mayo weren't in the final.

Apologies, McCaffrey said he can think of 1000 things that make you more deserving of a ticket over being a member of the Seanad!

It's not often that I feel able to speak for vast amounts of people but I think this time I can as I say to those Senators..

sure they'd have only had to hold their noses for 70 minutes plus from the stench of peasantry below them. they were better off watching it at the country club, if the golf wasn't on of course.

No surprise as Enda Kenny appointed Michelle Mulherin & Burke is one his buddies. Ask yourself what have Burke & Mulherin done in the Seanad that stands out & you know of, nothing. Nothing contributed despite massive salaries & expenses & a massive sense of entitlement, they really epitomise where this country is going.

I don't think we should be too hard on the senators. They have no role, nobody likes or appreciates them, and even worse, they have to take all that money. All they want is to be loved so why not offer them tickets to the first round of league games.

Mulherin made a show of herself last month on Drivetime with Mary Wilson now you have another sense of entitlement fool in this lad.

I'm sure he attends all the early season games in the depths of January, I'm sure he freezes his backside off sitting on a timber or concrete seat or standing on a breezy terrace for the National League in February or March, I'm sure he attends all the provincial matches and gets drenched watching his team during the "Irish summer". I'm sure he drives almost 300km a round trip to see his home county play in league or championship

I'm sure as hell he does none of the above and yet he believes he is entitled to an All Ireland ticket over someone like me, I want to meet this man and explain to him in the simplest most straight forward language possible what being a GAA supporter means.......

Remember Ireland voted to keep the Seanad and this is what they spend their time to talk about.

Are TD's automatically entitled to a ticket? If so, that is not right either

Only TDs in participating counties may apply to buy two tickets. All TDS are not entitled to tickets...

I love the language they use. They're effectively claiming that the GAA told them they couldn't buy a ticket, as if they were barred from entering the ground, when in fact the GAA told them that they didn't have an automatic right to be offered a ticket.

No discrimination, just go to your club and apply like everyone else. No problem.

The biggest issue this threw up for me was that TD's are offered tickets. That should be nipped in the bud too - fair enough the Taoiseach of the time should be offered two tickets, and add in the Minister for Sport too, but there's no reason to offer tickets to TD's from competing counties. If a TD from, say, Tralee is involved in the local GAA scene then they'll get looked after by the local club (clubs will be only too keen to keep the local TDs onside). If they're not involved with the local GAA club and/or haven't shown a willingness to help the local GAA club out, then they don't get a ticket.

All Ireland finals are not 'events', they are sporting contests. Event junkies can go elsewhere.

I have a simple solution to end this "discrimination": end the practice whereby TDs from the competing counties are entitled to tickets for All-Ireland senior finals. Everyone's then on an even keel, simples.
