I got sent off for my club in a league semi final two weeks ago straight red card and our club has still received no report on my suspension and the replay is tomorrow! Is there any guideline or timeline where the county board has to contact your club regards suspensions? Thanks in advance jaysean (Monaghan) - Posts: 97 - 09/09/2016 07:49:55 1912105 Link 0 |
I believe a red-carded player is automatically suspended until there is a disciplinary hearing. I think if you ask you will be told !! I wouldn't assume anything.

More importantly what did you get sent off for??? witnof (Dublin) - Posts: 1604 - 09/09/2016 09:50:52 1912127 Link 0 |
It depends what you got sent off for. Straight red would mean a suspension, whereas 2 yellows wouldn't. The onus is on the player not the county CCC to know if he is suspended or not. Im guessing that you think you are suspended but because you haven't received anything from your CCC that maybe you can play. Thats not the case, if you should be suspended and you play, your team could be in bother, not to mention your secretary and chairman. A quick phone call to the CCC secretary would clear it up, but unfortunately he may say you are ineligible to play. Better safe than sorry though. donegaldouble (Donegal) - Posts: 308 - 09/09/2016 10:06:42 1912133 Link 0 |
Get the manager to put you down on the team sheet as jayjohn and you'll be grand. Though you'd want to hope that the ref and opposition from that drawn Monaghan league semi final two weeks ago don't read Hoganstand. Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 09/09/2016 10:16:05 1912142 Link 0 |
Definitely better to ask the question. . cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 4977 - 09/09/2016 10:25:29 1912146 Link 0 |
He said that he got a straight red card, therefore he is suspended regardless of whether he gets CCC notification.

Yeah stick your name down as a retired player or someone who's emigrated - that always worked for me - unless you get a hefty ban which I did once for 3 months - then unless you wear a disguise you will eventually get caught - I did get it reduced to 1 month eventually :-)

A straight red means suspension unless appealed successfully. A straight red is a one game suspension and it could be more if the incident is deemed on the more serious end of incidents. If you were sent off for THE same offence within the same year then it may be doubled- I am open to correction though. My advice 'discipline, discipline, discipline- seriously though hope all works out well and you get quickly back on the pitch. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2340 - 09/09/2016 12:08:42 1912201 Link 0 |
Surely one phone call to the county board sorts it out? TheRightStuff (Donegal) - Posts: 1688 - 09/09/2016 12:11:49 1912203 Link 0 |
you will receive a 4 week ban minimum or more depending on the offence, plus you miss next game in same competition which is replay but least you'll be back for final if you win. Yourjoking (USA) - Posts: 699 - 09/09/2016 13:24:14 1912233 Link 0 |

I dont think you can get both a time suspension and a match suspension. Cat 3 penalty for striking is min 1 match ban, in same level i the same code in the same competition. This is for a first a first offense. Cat 4 is a 2 match suspension. etc etc Cat 5 and 6 are time suspensions but are for striking officials donegaldouble (Donegal) - Posts: 308 - 09/09/2016 16:01:56 1912315 Link 0 |
