Another Tipp and Kilkenny final - a joke!

This is not even funny how many of these finals I have seen. Sure it will a good match but neutrals wanted a Galway vs Waterford final.

can you not just appreciate that we've had 3 fantastic hurling semi finals in the space of a week and look forward to another titanic clash from two teams that bring out thr best of each other in the final.

Hmmmm. Both won their provinces. They have now advanced to the final. It's up to the rest to up their game. Waterford and Galway weren't too far away but they've still both come up short.

Galway were fierce unlucky to lose Canning injured. The last two league finals were Waterford v Cork '15 and Clare v Waterford '16. Waterford seem best placed of chasing pack.

No I am looking forward to a great match but a different final would be more interesting and more exciting , yes the two teams are the heavyweights of hurling but a difference would do no harm for one year

I thought Galway were very unlucky today. They lost two players who were going well before half-time and if not for a couple of bad decisions, probably could have won the match. Tipp looked quite mediocre for large periods of that match and I didn't think their supposedly much-improved defence looked all that improved. I don't think Kilkenny are getting beat this year.

Yes Galway only lost by point today...............Kilkenny, Tipperary and Waterford are the top 3 teams this year by a fair bit.

What have the league finals got to do with any indication of current form?

Tipp will beat Kk in another titanic battle in the final. That will then set up a golden age for hurling where the mighty cats are sliding and a group of 3 or 4 teams can beat them. I just hope Clare can be part of that group. Its never been better.

I think I'm going to come off Hoganstand. I'm sick of reading guff like this where posters are saying something different for the sake of being different.

I'd rather savour in the quality of three amazing hurling matches in the last seven days and hopefully one more to come in three weeks time.

Sorry about my fellow derry man people. I'm guessing by the majority of his posts that he is 13 or 14 and knows no better. Wishful youthful thinking on his part

As a Galway supporter I can understand where the thread comes from. The GAA seems to be heavily biased in favour of Kilkenny and to a lesser degree Tipp.
Yeah KK are a great team but they play all their matches in Croke park or Nowlan park it seems. Home advantage. Galway never get a match in Championship in Galway. Also Tipp play a lot in Thurles. Home advantage too.
Referees seem to help them too, to a lesser degree though. Come on Galway!

You had your "one year" in 2013. Stop your moaning.

At least there will be suspense as to who will win the Hurling unlike the Football.

The 3 semi finals have been close, exciting and high-quality games filled with tension. Will we get that in the last 3 Football Games?

In my opinion no because when the outcomes are so predictable, it's impossible to get the same knife-edge drama that was present for the 3 Hurling games

I said before today whoever wins today will be win the final, now not so sure Galway still have the issue of playing aimless ball, while Tipp lob high after high and support play from their forwards was poor today. Both of these teams issues play into the Kilkenny strengths presently.
Hope I am wrong as I felt sorry for Tipp losing to Kilkenny in 2014 and more than deserve a win.

There have been a few hurling people questioning Tipperary's bottle. My money was on Tipperary winning today but the odds were only 1/2. The spread betting was Tipperary -3, at least I sidestepped that.

Kilkenny rarely play championship matches in Nowlan Park. I can only recall four since the turn of the century. You're talking through your hat. And I never knew Croke Park was in Kilkenny, either.
