Kerry coming in under the radar?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The last few weeks we are hearing all the talk who will Sam. Dublin, Mayo, Tyrone, Donegal even Galway. There is no talk of the number 1 county in Gaelic Games Kerry. This is the county with 36 titles are who are the cream of the crop who always rise to the top. If forgotten they deservably won Sam Maguire 2 years and reached the final. This great supposingly great Dublin have never reached 2 finals in a row. Yes the dubs have beating Kerry in last finals but remember Kieran Donaghy should have had a penalty in both games which were game changing moments. Kerry didn't take both league game seriously this year especially playing a round of club championship the week before league final. Anybody taking a match serious wouldn't be allowed to play club football. This makes me believe Eamonn Fitzamaurice is waiting in the long grass with a huge plan to catch the dubs on the hop? A bit like Jimmy McGuinness planning for Dublin in 2014. The word from friends in kingdom county that they are to employ a mass blanket defence breaking forward. They will use clare as target practice to get ready for semi. Are Kerry coming in under the radar? There playing themselves down a lot but now only 2 games from winning Sam. They have won last 4 munster senior & junior titles and 3 munster titles. Also going for 3 in a row in minor all ireland and 2 in a row at Junior. They cleaning up All Irealnd club titles intermediate and junior level year in year out and now starting to dominate at school level. Who said Kerry football is dead? The future is bright!!!!!

I was at the league final and couldn't help thinking that Kerry were holding something back (not to mention JOD was missing).

But even then, there was a game there to be won, and Dublin won it comfortably without hitting top gear. The 2 will almost certainly meet in the semis and Dublin will have to be on their game to win it - but if they are, I can see them having too much for Kerry, particularly off the bench in the last 15mins. For Kerry to beat Dublin, they would need to score at least 2 goals IMO. They would then need to keep the stable door well and truly bolted. I'm not sure they can do that - Bernard gave Marc O'Se a bit of a roasting in the league final.

If the radar is detecting bashing and abuse thrown at - Kerry show up very clearly in 2016

If the radar is detecting teams who have a realistic chance of winning Sam in 2016 - we are a tiny dot which needs a magnifying glass to spot in contrast to the 'Big 3' who everyone can see

Not with the injury news that's coming out of the camp today.

Q-final to win first and we will see how they perform in that: no one knows where we are at as Munster campaign has told us nothing.

I'm sure they'd love to be under the radar, but I think everyone's well aware of the fact that they pose at least some kind of threat.

I don't know about us coming in under radar but I think our players will coming in to crokepark in ambulances such is devestating amount of injuries we have at the minute.
There is nothing to see here move along now.
And my heartiest congrats to Dublin on winning the 2 in a row.
We'll be coming for ye next year though.

We wont be serious contenders for at least 5 years and even then banking on Minor teams isn't a surefire way of success

Doesn't matter who is coming through in any county in relation to Sam. Might aswell just put it on permanent display on O'Connell Street in Dublin for at least the next decade.

Tell me where the abuse is. i praising Kerry football to the hilt. Kerry will bate the dubs. You dont win leagues when you do a hard training session day before a game. Fitzy has a few tricks up his sleeve

Cake walked Munster in 2nd gear...

And made the all conquering Tipp and Clare sides look perfectly average at best

They haven't had to do anything special and they'll soon find themselves in a semi-final

How is that coming in under the radar...

Despite the rather blatant and disingenuous hyperbole campaign spouted by a few Kerry gombeens on this site...

Anyone with half a head can clearly see that Kerry just need to find one decent performance and they are back in a final

Where they have all the experience in the world to make amends for last year

Have to disagree Jim. If Clare and Tipperay were in Leinster they be competing in leinster finals. Better than Laois, Kildare, Westmeath and Meath

Apart from the constant that is Dublin the other two of the so called 'big three' seem to change from week to week. If not Kerry who are the other two this week, Clare and Tipp?

I think that is an overreaction but they will likely win at least 6/7 of the next 10 with the likes of Mayo and Tyrone scrambling for the rest and hopefully ourselves in a few years time.

made the all conquering Tipp and Clare sides look perfectly average at best - We had the luxury of playing them in our own pitch (Derry, Laois Roscommon didn't have that advantage), would have been a lot less comfortable in Thurles or Ennis as history proves

Haven't had to anything special - Well this is an average Kerry team so you aren't going to see anything special

blatant and disingenuous hyperbole campaign - Telling it as we see it as opposed to wearing green and gold goggles

one decent performance - Decent is going to dethrone the Blue Behemoth? Talk about disingenuous

all the experience in the world - That's just the thing we have too much experience relying on 35+ yr olds trying to hold back the Tidal Waves of young and in their prime Dublin players coming forward. Not going to happen

As Mickey Harte said recently you need players who are good athletes and can play ball, we have players who are good athletes and others who can play ball but very few that have both ingredients together and that is why you have the 'Big 3' and the rest.

Kerry have lads on bench with 4/5 all ireland winners medals. Who could compete with that?

We neglected our youth and are in a long period of transition as a result since retirements from a great team started in 2010. We won our first minor in 20 years in '14. People are rightly looking North and West for potential challengers. No qualms about it. Ciarraí abú!
