Cross v Kilcoo should have been live on TV

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Yet again they won't be showing any live Ulster football, Cross play Kilcoo today in a mouth watering fixture, last time they played there was over 10,000 at the game. Unsurprisingly TG4 has ignored Ulster Gaels again, thanks very much :(

I may be mistaken but over the last number of weeks I thought I seen a number of games from the ulster region on tg4, a game with a Donegal club involved and another game with slaughneil from Derry recently. I also remember from the last year or two a good number of games shown involving ulster teams or maybe my memory is fading as im getting older.

The Derry county final was shown a few weeks ago likewise with the Scotstown match last week. So I don't think it's Ulster county bias. Only in hurling this county be said.
They have yet to show any of the Munster games presumably that's why they are showing the Legion Nemo games.

The good people of the Republic are forced year in year out to watch Ulster Championship Football as a result of the BBC's joint coverage. At that time of the year when the conditions are good the 'Ulster' football still tends to be sh!te to watch, 'borefest'. Sean Og tell me which match today would you remove from TG4s schedule in order to show the tag rugby match between the Down and Armagh Champions?

What a miss for the viewers Cross v Kilcoo is a major clash and the winners will have a big say in rest of the competition.

Do the Ulster Council want TG4 to show games??, as it will affect attendance and the gate takings

The big travesty is the Thurles game not being on

Yo be fair to TG4, they do give all provinces a fair crack of the whip, unlike some other "bigger" broadcasters!

Ulster crying Wolf again.....Tg4 should be commended for showing championship matches. They show plenty of Ulster matches.
Again typical whinging but where there is no basis!

I would prefer to be watching the Cross Kilcoo game rather than the hurling match to be fair but it isnt on so just get on with it

could this be down to viewing figure concerns i.e. those with teams from Gaeltacht areas are most likely to attract higher viewing figures

I don't agree sean og, TG4 are to be commended for their coverage and while I agree that Cross v Kilcoo was the pick out fixture at the weekend it should not be based on that. It is the beauty of the club championships that many clubs can get national exposure live on tv and that is the way it should be.

Cuala v Clara was a good game.Didn't watch Nemo game as had to work but didn't bother to record it either.I would have preferred Na Piarsaigh v Thurles or Kilcoo v Cross.

Officially there was 9,600 but in reality it was closer to 15,000 at the Cross v Kilcoo match, if it was televised live would that crowd have turned up in such great numbers in awful conditions....

Yes it was the big game yesterday ( especially up north) but I have no problem with the Cuala v Clara game being on..... don't think the Nemo v Kerry reps should have been on as Nemo were dead certs... but no northern bias in relation to football matters BUT def when it come to Ulster Club hurling

Two weeks time you have the Munster football final, Ulster football and Leinster hurling. If they showed Kilcoo and cross yesterday and showed the munster final then in two weeks instead there would be uproar here again. TG4 do a good job at trying to cover all provinces, massive overreaction by some over this
