Really getting tired of the constant comments coming from kerry since they lost the final just over 5 weeks ago. We had various ex-players and now Jack O' Connor attributing the loss to a variety of reasons from the 4 week gap between games to the rain, to poor decision making on the line etc. etc. It is obvious that the kingdom are hurting bad as they are now in the situation with Dublin that they were with tyrone in the previous decade. They lost to both counties in three successive championship matches. Prior to the final, the common themes were that Eamon Fitz was a tactical genius, that kerry had an unreal bench, they would nullify cluxton kick outs, they would win the majority of match-ups and that they would be better fit to adapting to circumstances that would arise in the final. Oh yeah not forgetting that they had won two games v cork and tyrone in the rain and would deal better with the bad conditions. Simple fact of the matter Dublin have now proved that they are arguably the best team ever to come out of the capital and quite simply at the moment they have the measure of kerry no matter how the game is played and in whatever weather conditions arise on the day. Things could change quickly and the Kerry might have the measure of the Dubs in the future but at present the Dubs are the No 1 team in the country and have been consistently so for this decade. 2011 hit Kerry bad, they still haven't really got over that and the two subsequent loses to us have just rubbed salt in their wounds, but as the Mayo lad says, enjoy it and look forward. KerryKillers (Dublin) - Posts: 711 - 29/10/2015 12:18:43 1802801 Link 0 |
The great thing is all the veterans are staying on for another season for Kerry thinking we have to get revenge but your legs won't get any quicker than they did this year only slower and these veterans will be holding out these great Kerry minor players like Spillane which is great for the rest of us. Advice to Donaghy O Mahoney O Se Gooch Galvin Sheehan etc walk away now you've been great players but your day has gone let the young lads through now for the good of Kerry football. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 29/10/2015 12:20:54 1802802 Link 0 |

The rain was definitely a factor in the game, and it did suit Dublin more than Kerry, that was obvious from the play. Kerry guys kept dropping it and losing it in contact. This Kerry team drew with Mayo the same way Dublin did, they also gave Dublin serious issues the year before. I mean the dubs hardly think they are just that much better than Kerry do they? So you ignore all previous games and just go off this one, and then call them sore losers when they don't sing off the same hymn sheet. Some of you lads don't half get carried away with yourselves. What I wouldn't have given for a torrential downpour when donaghy came on against us. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 29/10/2015 13:01:34 1802818 Link 0 |

There are many reasons for winning/losing a match .. tactics, talent, luck, weather, decisions etc. Curlew66 (Roscommon) - Posts: 503 - 29/10/2015 13:16:35 1802825 Link 0 |
Rubbish, if it had of been a dry day Dublin would have romped home, those balls would have stuck to BB and goodnight!!!! KerryKillers (Dublin) - Posts: 711 - 29/10/2015 13:28:47 1802831 Link 0 |

not bothered in the slightest with anything said , they are entitled to their opinion on their loss , if hard luck etc etc was how they see it well good luck to them , its not an opinion I share , Damothedub (Dublin) - Posts: 5193 - 29/10/2015 13:39:50 1802837 Link 0 |

Again the majority of the postings from kerry supporters are blaming everything particularly the weather for the defeat. So it re-affirms my opinion that kerry are not good losers. To be honest that probably comes from the fact that they are traditionally the strongest footballing county in the country. But let's be honest if you analysis the game fairly Dublin had at least 3 or 4 goal chances to kerry's one half chance that fell to killian young. Their much lauded forward line was well contained, their so called excellent midfield pairing struggled and eamon fitzmaurice like most managers has not got a magic wand. Then we hear if donaghy had played it would have been different not forgetting that he was deemed not to be playing well up to the final. In 2013 in an open game you were beaten, in 2015 on a wet day you were beaten and in 2011 in that unforgettable final ye were pipped to the post by a team that apparently would choke in a tight situation but which actually done the opposite and finished the strongest in the end.
