Why are the Dub Fans complaining so much?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Seriously. A goal from a penalty that should have been a free. A point after a guy double hops the ball. 4 red card offences and only one guy getting the line in injury time, and you come out with a draw. If mayo get the same 'treatment' from the ref on Saturday I'll be a happy man.

So why all this crying about being hard done by? I came out of croke park with a lot of respect for the majority of the Dublin players. They fought hard, never gave in, made us work for everything. I was thinking, with the Kerry lads looking so smug on the other side of the draw, if Dublin beat us I hope they win it. Then we get this raft of garbage from their fans - completely biased rubbish, and it just puts you off them completely.

All a matter of opinion and interpretation. Obviously you are seeing it through the eyes of a mayo supporter. You're only short of putting FACT at the end of that post then everything HAS to be true. Do me a favour! Anyway we have nore important things to be worrying about as supporters now...both sets. COYBIB.

The foul was outside the box. McManaman hopped the ball twice. No interpretation involved there. That is 1-1 for nothing in any man's language.
Cooper stamped on a guys leg, McMahon headbutted AOS, and also struck boyle twice in the penalty melee, so take your pick there. Osullivan had a yellow and black card offence ignored and Connolly punched a guy. There were also a few incidents with AOS that although I dont think were fouls, you often see fouls given for. That is a huge amount to go your way.

Yet now you are complaining about the ref. What did he give to mayo? A free to keegan that was soft. That is about it.

Smug?? Now now don't be dragging Kerry into the mess yourself and Dublin created there on Sunday Master...

You both have a match to worry about before you start on us!!

Fair comment master. Some of my fellow county men are losing the run of themselves.I said it on Sunday,i was disappointed with our tackling and ill discipline. No arguments here. Most of the criticism is deserved.

Master please have a look back at the game with rise coloured glasses. Yes for the penalty the tackle was outside but there should have been a black card.
For Kevin Macs point if you look at the match replay you will see Joe McQuillan the ref has his hand raised indicating advantage to Dublin for a foul.

Won't even go on with you comment about red cards etc other than COC and ten stitches.

Am a first time posting but a regular reader.

Im sure i wasnt the only one to notice McMenamen bounce the ball twice the second he did it.I cannot understand why none of the Mayo players didnt spot it.And if they did,why they didnt try and bring it to the referees attention.

Funny thing is guys Dublin management got their tactics wrong on Sunday,Their fullback line were obviously told to play dirty. If Dublin go out and play football they would of blown Mayo away, They are a far better scoring team...

TheMaster - Doherty hopped the ball twice in the 2012 semi final win for us over Dublin....sometimes the ref misses these things. I don't think either set of fans can have any complaints about a draw. I know from our point of view I am very disappointed with 60mins of that game and line were slow to change things too. But to our teams credit and their never say die attitude, I was proud leaving the stadium....that said much improvement needed.
Dublin fans will wonder what the hell happened but Dublin can and will also improve.
Lets hope the reply is a better footballing spectacle.

No complaints from me. More concerned with certain aspects of our performance. Both sides can point to decisions that went for or against them. I didn't hear any Dubs blaming Joe McQuillan for the team losing a 7 point lead inside the last 10 minutes.

haha your some blinkered boyo master
a soft free on keegan seriously
keegan for starters should have had a black card for pulling connolly down.
bastick and mccauley should never have been black carded.
why wasnt the mayo defender black carded for pulling down flynn for the dublin penalty?
cillian o connor struck rory o carroll
cillian o connor struck connolly and escaped both times without a card.
aidan o shea pulled mcmahon in for the so called head butt that never was yet went running to papers whinging.
alan brogan was clearly pushed in the back along cusack stand sideline and nothing given
thirty seconds later mayo were awarded a penalty for less.
Aidan O'Shea got away scot-free with a throw ball in the lead-up to Diarmuid O'Connor's point
Andy Moran took 10 steps in the 63rd minute before scoring.
O'Shea threw another ball in the 71st minute which again went unnoticed.
so listing all things dublin did wrong in the game yet clearly closing your eyes to this
really makes starting a thread like this look silly.

And that is 100% reasonable cue. There are daft posts coming from my own county too, but look, we need to wise up a bit. The rest of the country is watching it like a soap opera, while the Kerry lads are hoping for a few more red cards to be dished out Saturday evening. This nasty, hostile edge needs to be removed and that starts in the stands with us fans. I think the players will be much better behaved the next day, simply because if they don't, they will be made example of, so let's move forward from it. I genuinely think the game the next day could be the game of the year.

No it wasn't. No black cards for an accidental tangle of legs, and even if there was given in error, Doherty had a bad game anyway. If freeman or moran came on earlier we might well have won the thing.

For Kevin Macs point if you look at the match replay you will see Joe McQuillan the ref has his hand raised indicating advantage to Dublin for a foul.

And the initial foul was well over in the corner. A good chance it doesn't go over. But even if it did, and Dublin kicked the free for the 'penalty' over the bar, you still drop 2 points.

So again, what are you whinging about?

yewtree, I fully accept he hopped it twice and kicked it over the bar. I fully accept that refs make mistakes like that. That is why I wasn't cribbing about the ref giving us nothing after that game...

COC lashed out at ROC - red card
Keegan punch on Connolly - red card
O'Shea feigning injury from a non existant'headbutt'
Ridiculous penalty given to mayo for blatant dive
Constant diving from Mayo forwards
Etc etc

Yes it certainly was a niggly, high octane affair.I expect the replay to be a little more open and played in a better spirit.

Yet again, it is everyone else fault that Mayo can't win Sam, I've never seen as may whinging b**tards in my life. Please let them win this year so this will stop.

I think it is more than obvious to any neural supporter that the majority of calls went in Dublins favour. I can never understand why supporter's just dont call a spade a spade.
