Come on poolsturgeon,as hurlingmen,the League is 1 of only 3 chances,our counties have for silverware of note.It is a fine trophy to win in its own right.Look at the devestation on the Tipp players faces after last years brilliant final.

The unfortunate reality is that not only is the league considered second rate so too are our provincial championships. Limerick beat tipp twice home and away and tipp are ranked higher than limerick by most. We played Cork last year in Munster final n really threw it away yet we weren't hugely disappointed as we felt it would be better not to have the 5 week layoff that has caught out every Munster champion for last 4 or 5 years.

It's really only about winning AI. For last 2 years I said kk were past it and I was 50% right or wrong. For me the three best teams in 15 are prob limerick tipp and kk. I believe there is a big gap between these three and the rest. Lk and kk have proven themselves able to beat tipp in recent years so they get my nod. Lk have younger fresher players but kk have superior and far more experienced management. Conservative opinion would have to opt for kk but hope springs eternal

While I am delighted to see so many tipping Wexford for Leinster glory, to go to Nowlan Park and beat them is a big ask, and before that we have to get over the mine field that is the winners of the preliminary round robin!

Having said that, last year was a year of great promise but now expectation levels are higher so I at least would aim at an All-Ireland semi-final for Wexford. We have some really top U-21's coming through, which is of course a huge positive.

Think its gonna be very unpredictable championship next year in my opinion Kilkenny can not be the team they once were with all the retirements and if Shefflin goes they loose another impact player but we have said that in the past and look what has happened i'm gonna go for a Tipperary and Cork Munster final with Tipp to win and a Galway and Kilkenny Leinster final and Galway to win would love to see Wexford beat Kilkenny but the game is in Nowlan Park and Kilkenny rarely loose at home but you never know finally im going for a Tipperary and Galway AI final my heart says Galway to win it but im gonna for Tipperary to win the all Ireland championship if the hurt from last year can't bring them on I don't know what will I would seriously watch out for Clare and limerick next year also they are gonna have a huge say on the championship as will Cork!!!!!

Maroonforever,the hurt ye lads experienced in 2012 certainly didnt drive ye on in 2013.Its not that simple.Tipp were hurt bigtime.And rightly so.Losing both the League and All Ireland in excruciating circumstances must have been hard to take.Personally i think the damage done to Tipps pysche will have an adverse effect on their chances of retaing Liam McCarthy.They would have won the League final by right if the umpires did their job properly.And but for the stupid penalty rule change mid season they would probably be All Ireland champions too.To end the year with nothing but a Hawk Eye call of doom ringing in their ears must cut deep.And it will.I cant see Tipp recovering to reach the summit again.
I dont think theres a more difficult place to try and win in World Sport than playing the Kilkenny in Nowlan Park.Especially in the championship.They turned on the style last summer to inflict a savage beating on a poor Offaly side.Wexford,although steadily improving,have got the pulled the short straw here.Slim-to-no chance of getting out of the Marble city alive.
Limerick are in a nice position to build on.Their game v Clare is going to be some battle.2 real contenders looking for an early season knockout blow.I expect both to feature at the business end,but Clares winning mentality and extra bit of nous and skill to ultimately carry the day,and see Liam McCarthy residing in Ennis for another year.

There is nothing between any of about 6 teams so predicting who wins what is next to impossible. Here goes.

Munster - Tipp
Leinster - Kilkenny
All Ireland - Kilkenny (could be anyone)

In Munster 4 teams can beat each other on a given day. Waterford are rebuilding but in 2 or 3 years they will be back beating the other regularly. I can see Clare beating Limerick in the first round purely because they have to or else Davy will get the chop. He will have them peaking for that match and it will be hard to get them back to that level again for the Tipp match. Tipp to beat Cork in the final.

Leinster is predictable enough. Could be wrong. I hope I am.

The winner of the All Ireland could be anyone because of the qualifier draws. Limerick/Clare for example could get a handy run to a 1/4 final through the back door or could have a stinker of a draw in the 1st round and have 2 savage matches played before the year even gets going. For what it's worth I think the last 4 will be Tipp, Clare, Limerick & Kilkenny with the cats to win it again.

Agree with Mike it's very hard to predict who will win it but i'd ask it another way your life depends on it so who'd you pick?i know who i'd be picking and thats kilkenny.Having said all that any of prob 6 to win it i think it might be a Kilkenny Limerick final but again its too hard to call.I think it;ll come from kk or tipp with clare and Limerick right there too and lets not forget about cork.

The above are only opinions obviously and to be fair as previous posters have said any of 6 teams could win it.I think clare will come out fast to make a point that they havent gone away and i think that will give them the edge in the league.leinster i still think cats team to beat but you never know as the gap is closing all the time.munster is a minefield and really any of the counties could win it.I think limk will be ready for clare in may and would be hopeful of getting over the line against them.tipp game would be mammoth game then and could go either way but if limerick do beat clare they would have home games for rest of munster championship if they did progress and that might be the extra inch thats needed,alot was learned in that semi defeat to cats so it will be intersting to see what happens this year.so for me its tipp or limerick for the big one but that could all change in the blink of an eye which makes the hurling championship so enthralling for the last few yrs and this year will be no different.
