Brian I'd go with Nolan as best keeper but think idea of all stars is demeaned by picking p Walsh at 5 and p maher at 6. Think Walsh only played one game at 5 in c ship. If we leave out fact that B Maher excelled at 5 this year it still silly to call a player who played one game the best in that position. As for p maher he played at 6 twice once quite well n poorly in the AI replay. He therefore had 1 good game at 6 for me considering Kieran Joyce played a good game at 6 when he was marking best 11 in country Joyce deserves the nod. Also consider if o Mahony was fit he would be at 6 for tipp. How can he be the best in Ireland when he not even best 6 in his own county. Also maher has continuously under performed when playing central role either 3 or 6 for years.

Quite baffling to see Liam Rushe getting a nomination.

My team as I have posted on another thread:
1. Gleeson - Tipp
2. Murphy - KK
3. JJ - KK
4. Hickey - Limerick
5. B Maher - Tipp
6. P Maher - Tipp
7. Buckley - KK
8. Hogan - KK
9. McGrath - Tipp
10. Bubbles - Tipp
11. Bonner - Tipp
12. TJ - KK
13. Fennelly - KK
14. Callanan - Tipp
15. Dowling - Limerick

Player of the year: Richie Hogan.
Young Player of the Year: Shane Dowling.

The only positions that are debatable in my opinion are numbers 2 and 9. Cathal Barrrett and Conor Fogarty in contention for these positions.

Hurlingguru...would agree to an extent. To me there is no debate that Barret would be the easiest pick in the backs. For me Woodlock should have been nominated. Forwards pick themeselves

Brianmac78 - I have to disagree on a few points

Mine is veery similar to Hurling guru - I'd be biased I know but I'd go with Fogarty at 9 instead of McGrath.

Can't see many others than that. Maybe Barrett at a push.

Can understand why people wouldnt go with Padraig Walsh but to me he had a savage impact on some games this season and drove over som huge scores. Gleeson will get goalkeeper but I thought Nolan was superb and under huge pressure on stepping in for the current all star keeper

Barret was class but look I wouldnt be shocked if he missed out Jackie and Murophy were immense and I think Hickey is a shoe in.Sure wouldnt it be boring if we all picked the same 15 :)

Don't like Gleesons footwork in nets, think Eoin Murphy is a far superior keeper, the Dublin lad is probably second place.

Paul Murphy is Codys go to man for stiffling the opposition forwards, no more explanation required.
Richie McCarthy, still waiting to be found out even though forwards have threatened to do so, he still comes up trumps.
Seamy Hickey, distribution of the ball has improved, less silly running and defendsively sound.

Brendan Maher, solid all year, if a bit quiet in the replay.
Paudie, No real stand out centre backs this year, so he gets it for his influence in the first final even if Richie Hogan did get the better off him for a while.
Cillian Buckley, unsung hero for KK, does the simple things well and drives forward at every opportunity,

Richie Hogan, had quiet replay but was great against Galway in both games, brought KK back into the drawn final although injury curtained him in the replay, still did enough before this to merit inclusion.
Shane McGrath, took the fight to KK in both games, some engine on him and some great long range points.

John O'Dwyer, grew as the year went on, some fantastic scores in the drawn game.
Bonner Maher, take it as a compliment when Cody puts his best man on you and you still do a job for the team, less impact in the replay hence the Tipp defeat. Still Tipps go to man.
TJ Reid, solid if unspectacular year for Reid, always good for a few scores though.

Richie Power, blighted by injury, but changed KK's fortunes when sent on against Limerick when the game looked like going away from them, came up with the goals that mattered in the final(s)
Callanan, to an extent, shook off the unfulfilled potential tag, fine hurler who is finally showing his ability. Will be glad to see the back of JJ though.
S Dowling, The Limerick forward who caused the most problems through the year, why Limerick didn't get him more ball in the second half against KK I will never know, can work the dirty ball as well as any forward about.

It won't happen but for me.

1) Nash - Best keeper in the country by a mile, he could do nothing about the two goals in the semi. The closest to him is Nicky Quaid, again distribution is top class, concedes more due to our porous half back line.

2) Murphy - A show in, rarely has a bad game.

3) Richie McCarthy - The amount of work this lad has to get through due to our half back line is unreal. He looked after Callinan, Cronin/Horgan, McDonald and Kelly with ease in his games. Check what was scored off him. The only reason i am giving him this is because i thought Dowling tore JJ a new one in the semi.

4) Seamus Hickey - Again a shoe in for me. I think Noel McGrath, Pat Horgan, Liam Og McGovern and TJ Reid amassed and i may be wrong 4 pts from play against him in four matches.

5) B Maher

6) P Maher

7) Buckley

8) Richie Hogan

9) Paul Browne - Everything good that comes from Limerick goes through this kid.

10) Bubbles

11) Bonner

12) TJ

13) Fennelly

14) Callinan

15) Dowling

Some valid points been brought up. Not sure who I would give the goalie too as I don't think Gleeson had a great year at all but will almost def get it.

I wouldn't give JJ the full back spot either but he will get it. Not sure how Padraig Walsh could be nominated even. Everyone will have their own opinions! I do think James Barry should have been nominated miles before Stapleton. Also Kieran Bergin is another player who will probably be unlucky to lose out but the half back line is probably already rightly set in stone with Maher, Maher and Buckley.

The 3 Tipp half backs had the games of their lives in the replay as did Buckley

Almost 100%. Young Player of the Year let me down.
