Kerry tactics at the end of extra time

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Kerry approached the end of extra time -the Mayo free in on 10 mins of the second half of ET with the tactics of "start a fight: win the game".

Cynical, negative, vomit inducing football from the self appointed purists.

Next time Ulster teams get lectured from the Spillanistas - let us remind them of this.

I agree - I don't want to fault Kerry, anyone would do it. But it's awful to watch and makes a mockery of the new rules. Eugene McGee what have you to say?

The last 10 minutes of the game has ruined the football championship for me. Complete joke.

I wouldn't describe the way you have, Mayo done their fair share too, their diving and falling to the ground is legendary, ultimately the important thing is the better team won and thats what everyone wants in any game.

Just goes to show that those who said that Mickey hartes defensive/cynical tactics of the 2000s would damage the game were right. When Kerry get involved with that nonsense you know theres no way back.

Rich coming from a Monaghan man. Mayo were sucked into it awful easy. Come back when Kerry start introducing the 15 man full back line like you lot

As usual a blind eye will be turned regarding the antics of the so-called purists!

This Kerry team knew what was required and in fairness why not.
Good luck to them in the final they are going to need more than a few gifts to beat the dubs and if Donegal beat Dublin (huge if) they will beat Kerry.

Yeah blame Tyrone for Kerry being cynical, that's a good cop-out. Kerry weren't angels in the noughties anyway. Wouldn't say Kerry are any more cynical than most teams but neither have they always been paragons of virtue.

Not sure what qualifies as a safe opinion on this forum, seems harsher comments than mine are allowed for the diabolical standard of refereeing of an all ireland semi final?

Ah lord lads, it was only a bit of handbags, nothing to get worked up over. Good job the supporter bloke didn't get stuck in, six stewards trying to push him back and he kept on coming. lol

Marc O Sé feigning injury wasn't a high point either.

It was a great game but the proper amount of injury time needs to be added for this carry on.

You wouldn't catch Donegal men at it!!!

Nonsense, that football today is streets ahead of Ulster and I say that as an Ulsterman, that game had everything, Uster teams have a long tough road ahead before they get to the Dubin/Kerry standard. They'll have to ditch the negative defensive football if they want to compete.
