What should/needs to be done to deal with burnout?
Limit training sessions? Proper season structure?
Education>

Proper player welfare management. Dual players are only that because they are very talented individuals. Managers have to look at these guys and wrap them in cotton wool for the IC league campaign so keeping them in reserve for the 6 games or so in each code at the business end of the year. If there's going to be a tug of war over league and championship between both codes then the player has to choose one or the other.

Pick one code.
People should be allowed play both sports if they want but shouldnt be expected to do so much training etc if involved in something else within reason of cours

By proper player welfare management what do you want done in relation to single and dual code players? Don't think player should have to pick and choose between league and championship as player burnout as that doesn't solve anything.

I'm talking about the managers themselves using the players conservatively and putting some thought into their selection. So resting these players for the league for example may mean that they would play less than 10 IC games a year between both codes, championship only. Just a suggestion but bottom line is collaboration between both managers to use dual players sparingly.

Are you implying coaches don't put thought into their selection???
Don't think resting those players for the league is an option but changing how they approach games and the way they train is way forward.

Player burn out , watch this space come the winter when the annual county blitzs take place sorry I mean county championships , it is imperative that a young lad has strenght behind him for he will be manipulated , in my experience strong parenting while annoying coaches is needed for the health of the youth ,this is not always the case , I dont think anyone has the right to tell a lad that a sport hes played since hes probably 6-7 and because hes talented he should quit one of them , it stands to reason that very few will be able to juggle both codes , work , family , college etc but they shouldnt be pressurised , its an Amature sport , no one is entitled to put demands on an amature , not a coach , fans , county boards etc at the end of the day if things go pear shapped and your injured a lot of lads are left on the scrap heap ,
I admire the dual player both in club and county more than anyone , hes a dying breed , and like all endangerd species he needs protection .

Well its up to club players sick of the treatment they receive to ensure they tell their county delegates etc that club games are not postponed until winter and proper season structure for all is in place. Yes it is an AMATEUR sport but demands can be put on them in right circumstances and the right way
