I am sure the man is well qualified and will do his best..will we be all here in 10 years time trying to list off the previous years managers of Offaly and his name wont be thought of??..or will we be saying "oh he was the manager we won the League (Divison 1 now not Division 3/4) and won the Leinster final with??..I hate to hazard the answer to be honest.. Well a lot of that will depend on ye'r footballers really, Stephen Wallace is a fine manager, he was over our Kerry juniors for 3 years taking us to 3 finals winning 2 of them, he also helped ardfert to win the allireland intermediate club final a few years back. I am sure he will do his best..most have never heard of him which is a worry...I know managers have to make a big start somewhere and this appears to be his big first managerial position....I hope if the county board don't do their bit he will come out and say it there and then..last Manager comes out when it all falls down around him saying he couldn't get this that and the other...

If your expectation on the Offaly senior footballers is Division 1 National League Titles and Leinster Championships then there must be something serious going on at underage level in Offaly that I'm not aware of!

ah I know underage success is the norm to lead onto Senior success, but not every county can win at underage and often good teams generate from a few years underage teams having reached maybe a few provincial finals (without winning) and while seldom nowadays will manage to cobble a league or provincial title winning team together...Limerick won 3U21's in a rown in hurling in the early 2000's and still didn't win an All Ireland..or a league that I can remember with any player from those teams....

He's a players man and very astute and is quick to make changes when needed and I wish him and Offaly all the best.
