Eamon Fitz or Mickey Harte

(Oldest Posts First)

Ok folks , I know its hypothetical but considering where both managers are at at this moment in time, if your county was looking for a new manager and both were available and interested, which would you prefer to see in the job.
Fitzmaurice seems overly cautious at times and wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea in Kerry while Harte seems to be continueing with the old methods that worked in the past for Tyrone and now has 3 more years whether he adopts new tactics or what remains to be seen but again some Tyrone followers would have said it was time to go.
Interesting to see which one ye would opt for.

I'd have Donie Buckley/James Horan or Pat Gilroy before either of them

I'd go along with you I think on the Horan one alright and possibly Gilroy but I think Buckley would be a gamble as indeed Gilroy was at the time. But of the 2 names mentioned , that's the question.

I'd drive both of them to Antrim myself and buy them a nice big lunch on the way if they fancied a task as big as Antrim! I'd probably prefer Mickey, less chance of him getting fed up with the travel and he'd be easier to find again of he ran away.

I'd have Fitzmaurice ahead of Harte. Would not have Horan or Gilroy at all.

Simple - if you're from the North, you'll prefer Harte; if from the South, you'll prefer Fitzmaurice. If the posts so far are any guide.

At the moment I would have to say I don't think EF has proved himself.
MH is in a sort of limbo at the moment where he is still trying the old method which won him and Tyrone 3 AIs a decade ago.
If both were available , I honestly don't know who would be in more demand as there would certainly be others that county's would want to look at aswell if not first.

I disagree about Mickey Harte trying the old method which won him and Tyrone 3 All Ireland's in the 2000's. In fairness to him, he was actually trying a more zonal version of Donegal under Jim McGuinness, but seems to be way too cautious when playing the likes of Mayo and Dublin.
