Gutted with result but well done Galway. There is no doubt at minor level in particular being roared on by a big Crowd is a huge advantage, Having said that we got a great start but couldn't put them away and in the end, Galway just about deserved it. Great match, some brilliant forwards in particular on both teams. Yes he got it right but he got Canning's wrong. He had two of those decisions to make, yet he can't even get consistency in that. Cork lost by one score. Congratulate the ref indeed. Thought he was poor to be honest........great game though between two very evenly matched teams......Cork probably should gave been further ahead at half time and missed a couple of great chances to equalise but fair play to Galway they hung on for the win.... Thought it was a great game, especially the second half. At one stage near end of match tg4 put up a graphic showing time since last score - I think it was about 8 mins without either team scoring. But it was an absolutely mighty 8 mins of great end to end hurling, blocks, hooks, great catches and clearances. A joy to watch. Some of the scores from both teams were majestic throughout the match. Cork had some fine defenders in that team, the flicks, blocks and hooks were reminiscent of the likes of Dermot McCurtain, Sherlock and the Cashmans. The biggest challenge is to develop these players into senior standard." Not my experience of it. There were some wides then but it was tough hurling. Scores going over left right and centre in a hurling match like Cork v Clare both final games in 2013 and the drawn KK v Tipp final of 2014 are often indicative that a game is a little loose, not tough enough. I'd say bull if you won it would have been a cracker! Not having a pop at Cork with that, they were evenly matched teams and Cork hurling is on the up. U17 champs and fought a tough minor final.
