Now is not the time to talk about the match. Sean Cav you are a legend. A genuine bona fide legend. I felt for you today. You did not deserve that. Thanks for the memories. Love from Dublin. Good luck. Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 27/08/2017 17:50:09 2038751 Link 6 |
The man is a legend in this game up they're with the greats of this game maybe a future manager Sheaamy1976 (Tyrone) - Posts: 21 - 27/08/2017 17:57:57 2038764 Link 1 |
wasn't impressed with harte taking off Cavanagh even he wasn't his usual self but there were younger players who let the side down big time, like McClure missed 3 sitters mc carron also should have left him on and moved him in closer, not nice from harte to end seans outstanding service, the man owes no one in tyrone anything or even the gaa as a great ambassador of the sport.

Legend is right. Certainly won't miss him playing against Donegal but was a pleasure to see him play in the flesh many times. Happy retirement and congrats on a fantastic career. panamasam (Australia) - Posts: 2771 - 27/08/2017 18:02:41 2038769 Link 0 |
farewell to one of the very best I've seen. Nice to see his opponents wish him well at the end there. SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2385 - 27/08/2017 18:04:49 2038772 Link 0 |
Very best wishes to Sean on his retirement. He lit up so many games. 2008 All-Ireland v Kerry comes to mind especially. Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 27/08/2017 18:08:06 2038777 Link 6 |

Always said if there was a transfer market that man in his pomp would have been the first player Id have gone for. TheHermit (Kerry) - Posts: 6354 - 27/08/2017 18:44:42 2038809 Link 0 |
An excellent servant who delivered on most of the big days. I would have loved to see him play on a team with more of an attacking focus to see how good he could have been in a traditional system, I think he would have really shone. Soma (UK) - Posts: 2630 - 27/08/2017 18:52:49 2038815 Link 0 |
Best player I've ever seen. Class act. Tyrone and the GAA have seen a great leave the stage today. Best of luck to you Séan. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7290 - 27/08/2017 18:58:23 2038818 Link 0 |

Always said he was the best player to ever come out of Tyrone IMO. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 4977 - 27/08/2017 19:25:16 2038833 Link 0 |
Super footballer but had waned a good bit in recent years. He hasn't really been top notch for a good 4/5 years if truth be told. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9688 - 27/08/2017 19:28:11 2038841 Link 0 |
very few of his team mates today stood up to be counted when it mattered or did anything to make what was possibly his last game at least a contest. lucky to be getting away if that's the crap tyrone are going to persist with, though I doubt the new management would continue with something that was shown up today for what it is, bs at least in a semi final you should be looking for ball not standing waiting on the opposition to make a mistake or give you a ball so you can break free

Happy retirement to Sean Cavanagh if that's what happens.Mickey Harte has been a great Manager for Tyrone winning three All-Irelands but he's there for too long and a change is needed. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2141 - 27/08/2017 19:39:22 2038849 Link 0 |

Absolutely. A legend, a warrior and my favourite ever Tyrone player. I would have taken him onto any Dublin team at any stage. Enjoy the well deserved retirement Seany.

A fine player who probably should have resisted the appeals to give it 'one more year'. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 27/08/2017 20:18:05 2038877 Link 0 |
