100% for effort. France too good. Huge crossover with ladies gaa players and rugby now. That's another topic for another day.

To be honest since they won't even play 'Amhrán na bhfiann' in Ireland found it hard to support them.

Can understand the reasons why they want a 'neutral song' but to wipe completely the Irish language out for political reasons.......

I agree there, especially playing at home.

i agree about Amhran Na Fhiann. Hard to support a team like that. All in the name of PC, the majority of the team are from this side of the border, same as the men.
They got a hiding last night, might stop the hype.

A strange one alright what ever about not playing it away (I don't agree with that either) but to not play it at home is ridiculous.

They have less Ulster players than the men's team also. Bizarre..

Hannah Tyrell from my club played for Dublin she was full back last night an absolute super star at Gaelic football the Dublin team should of been built around her.

Imagine objecting to supporting a bunch of girls playing for Ireland over a song. Mind boggles.

The national anthem should be played at home . It's as simple as that .

Totally agree. Shocking and pathetic that it's not. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be played away as well. They're either playing for Ireland or they're not. Give them a different name so if they're not willing to embrace the symbols of the nation.

at least when you go to a rugby or soccer game people remain silent for the full duration of the anthem, at a lot of gaa games there is cheering well before the end. is it too much to ask for people to be quiet for those few extra seconds

pity bout last night, ireland gave it their best effort but france were better very good back row hope they win it now

good luck limerick tomorrow night

Did she not play in goals a few times for Dublin? Missed a league final or an All Ireland against Cork because she was playing with the 7's rugby team at the same in Olympic qualifiers?

Hype? Or just a belief that a team that won two 6 Nation's in the last 5 years had a chance of doing well in a home World Cup?

The good old D4 media went easy on them after last night just like they do with the men's team. I looked at their 4 previous 6 nations games against France. Ireland won both home games and one away game in France. The only loss was a 10-9 defeat in France. Our rugby teams always seem to bottle it when it matters most: 2007 World Cup, 2011 and 2015 Quarter Finals. You can take a beating, but when they don't show up at all.

Now compare that with the Irish soccer team, they get hauled over coals anytime they lose or draw in a big game. Funny because they tend to overachieve with the exception of the Euro 2012 finals.

Are you suggesting that because its a bunch of girls that people shouldn't object? that would be very enlightening if you were.

Other than the 1990 World Cup when did the soccer team overachieve?

The last time they qualified for a major championship. With the low quality of players available to the various managers they shouldn't have qualified for any finals over the past 20 years.
