National - Cork v Dublin minor hurling semi-final

God lad's this has to be one of the fussiest ref's I have ever seen in the minor match. Ruining the match.

Talented bunch though. Well done Cork.

Ref fairly annoying, but well done Cork hope the lad doesn't miss the final.

Wasnt impressed with Dublin at all. How many times did they fail to lift tge ball clean even under no pressure? Won little if any puckouts clean. Won little or no breaking ball either..

Think too many people in Dublin have patted themselves on the back for a job left half done.

Tbat Cork keeper was outsfanding on his puckouts

Ref was unbelievably fussy. Watched the match on tg4 so couldn't understand all the commentary but I could pick up that the commentators were increasingly exasperated at the ref, and the second yellow card for the sending off was ridiculous.

Two weeks in a row the ref has completely ruined a game , last week was a free shoot out also when same two teams met at under 17 , two truly shocking refereeing performances , the killer is these lads play all year in challenge matches that are full on and by and large refed well they get to the biggest stage and the fussiest fecker ruins their day , best team won regardless

Dublin have at this grade consistently blown it. I think they hold the ball way too long especially carrying it into the tackle, they over bat the ball instead of catching it and at big games just seem to clam .

I blame the development squads. They just churn out the sams type of player time and time again like a factory.

I try to refrain from commenting on refs, particularly for single incidents which they may have got wrong, as they often have to make a quick decision without all the evidence. However, this referee was just consistently on the whistle throughout the game. It got to the stage where you knew he was going to blow even when lads were going shoulder to shoulder. The game had no flow to it as a result, and never really took off.
If he doesn't change his style, I hope I never see him reffing senior.

A note on Dublin minors 8 under 17s took to the field , with others on the bench , very young side , some of those lads are only 16 up against 18 year olds .

Cork also had 7 under 17's on the minor panel. 5 of them started and 1 came on. The under 17's beat Dublin last weekend in the all Ireland final in what was a much closer game. Dublin have some very good under age hurlers but they just seem to be lacking that little bit when it comes to the more traditional hurling counties. They have made great strides to be fair and i am sure they will contest at under age level for many years to come. There has been allot of money and time invested into Dublin hurling. Well done to our lads, It was vital we got to the All Ireland final and we really need to win it. We have some class players at under age level so Cork hurling is on the way back.

We played Cork at under 17 twice in challenge matches prior to last week we lost by one point and drew the other , problem for Dublin was the same all season coach put every apple into one basket , four lads on yellow cards the ref with an itchy finger and coach refuses same as all year to make changes last week , knowing he was also going back to the well for this week with the same group. One lad plays in corner forward all game struggles big time , a super corner forward from Isles sitting on the bench coming into savage form doesn't get to come on , then same forward starts this week and subbed at half time , it took three half's of play to cop what everyone else could see, Jim Gavin rewards loyalty on one condition you are in form , loyalty for loyalty sake is self defeating , perfect example yesterday young Currie being left on the frees for far too long when he was obviously struggling , best of luck to Cork in the final.
