The RTE sports cameras rolled into Dundalk tonight while those old reliables TG4 treated hurling followers to some fine attacking fare, culminating in 46 scores during the Munster under 21 hurling semi final in Limerick. As usual well done TG4. Triple H (Meath) - Posts: 551 - 12/07/2017 21:46:45 2015830 Link 2 |
In fairness it was shameful how little tv exposure Dundalk got for their exploits last year. Fair play to TG4 as always. Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 12/07/2017 22:07:15 2015840 Link 7 |
In fairness to Duignan i'd say he wouldn't have minded what station the KK/Waterford match was shown on as long as it was free to air. KK1926 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 175 - 12/07/2017 22:15:48 2015844 Link 1 |
I would be the first to criticise RTE but that's a cheap shot at them .

Dundalk, the reigning League Champions, were representing the League of Ireland in a Champions League qualifier. As a sportsman who played hurling, Gaelic football, handball and rugby Michael Duignan was probably delighted people had the option to watch the hurling on TG4 and the soccer on RTE.

€165 for a TV license every year? No such thing as free-to-air!

Beat me to it! Was about to say the same thing. Sky can be got for 20 quid a month and at least you get almost every sport, not a few hurling matches, Celebrity Farm and Prime Time.

Are you complaining that the League of Ireland champions playing in a Champions League qualifier, after a great European run last year, were shown on RTÉ? If so what a strange thing to complain about.
