That's it based on this year's Connacht championship. However, even as a proud and delighted Roscommon man tonight, I would have to say that I think Mayo are still the best football team in Connacht and I think Mayo will go the furthest of Connacht teams in this year's All-Ireland series. With a fuller panel and players back from injury next year, I expect Roscommon to be a serious team in 2018 and to take over Mayo's mantle next year.

Congrats to Roscommon and K McStay who took a lot of abuse during the league campaign for Roscommon's displays. I believe that McStay looked at the championship draw and believed that Roscommon had a great chance of winning Connacht. Roscommon were not up to speed for the league but today showed what fantastic footballers they have. How many of the Roscommon players who have left the panel will return for next year. As a mayo supporter I believe that Galway and Roscommon with get the majority of the Connacht titles over the next ten years. Congrats to Roscommon again. Who knows we could be playing you in a quarter final later in the summer. Giveitago (Mayo) - Posts: 86 - 09/07/2017 21:45:50 2013424 Link 0 |
