Sure we all love a controversy!

(Oldest Posts First)

so,it looks like the Diarmuid Connolly saga is coming to an end, davy fitz suspension is almost over....GAA life is returning to normal.
unfortunately, normal GAA is fairly boring.cliche's, players are overtrained bores who dont speak to the media, matches are fairly dull.
We needed Davy and Jason Forde to go at it,we needed Connolly to start with the linesman, because at the end of it all, what has been the 2 most discussed issues this year on here?
davy, forde and connolly are pantomime villains, and when all is said and done, without them and their madness, and the madness of the next controversy, the GAA summer would be very very boring.
those of us of a certain vintage remember the long hot summer of 1998,the Tony Keady affair in 1988,20-30 years on and when all is said and done,we still love the controversy, the madness, the committees, the CCC/CRC/OMG, because sadly the games don't really give us much to talk about for the most part.
bring on the next controversy, should be hot off the press on monday.

Its a lot quieter on here this week without Connolly, Davy Fitz and a controversy free weekend just passed!
Maybe this weekend will bring more, the Dubs are out so somebody will be looking for a stick to beat them with over something!

As long as it doesn't involve Mayo I'm up for a bit of controversy. I'd love to see Mickey Harte or Jim Gavin running on to the field and rattling one of the opposition players with a shoulder. Mind you Cody in his day looked like he'd be up for it. Probably was winning so much he didn't feel the need.
