Clare v Kerry

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Clare and Kerry meet for the third time in 12 months in championship football this weekend. Can the Banner men pull off a huge upset in Ennis this weekend or will it be business as usual for the Kingdom?

This thread will be used to discuss Sunday's Munster SFC semi-final.

Kerry don't lose to Clare or Tipp no matter how hard they try. Kingdom by 10 pulling up.

Division 2 at home to division 1. All-Ireland quarter finalists v All-Ireland semi-finalists. Biggest game of the championship so far. Unfortunately for Clare Kerry are, alongside Dublin, the best team at exposing any weakness in the opposition and have clinical forwards who can kill a game in minutes. Kerry should win but they will be made work for it.

Clare causing an upset? A 14th century style plague couldn't prevent a Kerry victory.

We never find it easy in Ennis , as our U21's showed a while back

In 2014 we were pushed all the way before just getting out alive with a 4 point win.

I'm going to say we'll get through by 5/6 points and more importantly no injuries or suspensions!!!

I think Clare will keep Kerry honest. Not as big as outsiders to win as Carlow were against us but I can't see any fairytales here.

I'd agree with all that ky I'd say we should win by 5/6 .

Ennis is a tricky spot, a tight pitch with the crowd on top of you. It doesn't suit Kerry. Clare have the benefit of game already too and Kerry usually start slow enough in the Championship. Given how it went the last time we were down there in 2014, I'd expect Clare to give us a good rattle on Sunday.

But you'd hope Kerry have enough in the tank to weather it and come out with 4 or 5 points in the end.

Really looking forward to seeing what team is named on Friday and putting on the jersey come Sunday morning,

10 weeks since the League final, thank Christ Kerry are finally entering the Championship!!!!

Clare have improved in recent years so it won't be as easy as usual for Kerry.

However they should still win pulling up. Anything between 5 and 10 points probably.

You hit the nail on the head here. All Kerry are concerned about this time of year is a clean bill of health. The right things will be said at the press conference but there will be no doubt about the result. No shock in 2017.

It's a showery baxtard of a day but great to be heading to Ennis to watch the kingdom .
there are a lot of Kerry cars on the road as we travel through Newcastle west.

It's not all going to plan at the moment but you would still expect Kerry to prevail.

This game was quite close for most of the match from what I was hearing on the radio. Didn't expect that I must say.

Job done, Clare gave us a good rattle but we eventually shrugged off the rustiness and powered on.

Was good to see James O'Donoghue moving so well in the second half.

Plenty to work on but we're off the mark.

If Clare can bring the fire to the qualifiers that they brought to the game in cusack park today then they'll make the quarterfinal.

Their midfield is serious , I don't envy any teams heading to Ennis in the qualifiers.

Hard luck Clare keep yer chins up yer not far away.
