The Hurling Qualifiers

Interesting times ahead Tipperary,Dublin,,Laois,Westmeath so far. Am I correct in saying Christy Ring cup winners enter at this point also and there is some sort of play off?
With the possibility of either Cork,Waterford ,Limerick ,Clare,Kilkenny,Wexford,Offaly and Galway entering the following round the championship is already taking shape and some cracking games await!!

I think there could be alot of confusion around this in the next month or so. In any copy of this years fixture list I've seen, the Christy Ring winner is scheduled to face a leinster QF loser in a prelim qualifier on June 24th, 2017 (how they'd determine which Leinster QF loser, I don't know). However, apparently, congress decided in February to postpone having this come into effect until next year, even though it had been approved the previous year, and the fixture schedule for 2017 made accordingly. I think. See Onion Breath's post in the following thread:

The Christy Ring winners play one of the beaten Leinster quarter-finalists in the preliminary round. The winners will join the other beaten quarter-finalists and semi-finalists from both Munster and Leinster in the first round proper. The 3 teams from the Munster championship will be kept apart in the first round. The game involving the losers of Kilkenny v Wexford will probably be the tie of the round.

The fixture list on www.gaa.ie still has the Christy Ring winners down to play a Leinster team on June 24th. Anyone know for sure if this is going ahead or not?

Well surely if it is on the GAA website that means it is going ahead? Or is this an indication of in what low esteem people regard the GAA website?!!!!

Where did you hear that the three Munster teams will be kept apart? Unless Cork lose their semi final, Tipp won't have faced any of the other two Munster semi final losers. If results go as expected and the Christy ring winners are beaten in the preliminary round, then round 1 will be:

Tipp
Dublin
Westmeath
Laois

Vs

Wexford
Waterford
Limerick
Offaly

The only pairings that would be have to be avoided if drawn would be Westmeath vs Offaly and Wexford vs Laois.

Three munster and 1 Leinster in the other.
Tipp, loser of clare/lim loser of wat/cork
1 qualifier.

The four winners from rd 1 would then be drawn against each other, avoiding repeat pairings where possible, the two winners would then face the 2 beaten provincial finalists, avoiding repeat pairings where possible.two winners play provincial champions to decide final pairing.

From what I can see there is a qualifying round ring cup winners v leinster loser.

Then there are 4 rd 1 game meaning the qualified winner plus tipp and other 2 leinster losers can only be pitted against the 4 loser provincial teams.

Then rd 2 is obviously those 4 winners to see which 2 make it to qfs.
