Irmandinhos A Estrada from Galicia in Spain held an invitational tournament last Saturday and 2 Irish clubs; Kilbride & Moylagh sent over Mens & Ladies teams respectively. The hosts met the Irish sides in the respective finals of the tournament and had 2 amazing matches. 25 goals and 28 points scored between the 2 games. Oh and it was the Galician teams who came out victorious in both games. AJ6000 (Mayo) - Posts: 32 - 06/04/2017 00:22:45 1976293 Link 0 |
Sure aren't most of the west coast descended from Galicians anyway? They're just returning to their roots. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9688 - 06/04/2017 02:47:28 1976301 Link 0 |
Did Kilbride overindulge in Galician hospitality before the game? I hope they have some excuse for that performance! Sindar (Roscommon) - Posts: 348 - 06/04/2017 10:29:40 1976385 Link 0 |
It's very possible, the Galicians are wonderful hosts ;) We went to their pan-Europeans a few years back and the hospitality was brilliant- as much food and drink as you wanted, traditional music, the lot. It's an amazing set-up they have out there, a fifteen club league with hardly any Irish players in it. Think they may have gotten to the final of the World Games in Dubai a few years back too.
