Impressive win for the Cork hurlers despite concession of 3 goals.
Team has guts.
Also good win against Derry ...good day all around.
Double is on for this year.

Well, Cork City are 6 points clear at the top of the Premier Division.

Silly thread but delighted with the two wins. Having said that I have no faith whatever in the Cork Football Management team and no expectations at all for the season.
Kieran Kingston appears to be making progress in the hurling, he has gone for youth in a big way and they seem to have found a new determination. There is a huge difference however between hurling in March & Championship Hurling in May & June. Come the Championship I can't see Cork living with Tipp but if we get a bit of luck in Qualifiers we just might make the quarter finals & that in itself would be progress.
I think Limerick will be our opponents in National League quarter final and for the first time in recent years, I have the old feeling of excitement & anticipation back and at this stage that is the only game I'm going to think about.

Can't see us getting anything out of Tipp game so our fate whether we make the quarters or face a relegation play off is likely to depend on results elsewhere.
Any & every win means the world to Cork hurling fans at the moment so we will just bank today and see how we go next day.

On this site, Just about everyone predicted Tipp and Derry wins over Cork . So much pessimism....night is darkest before dawn???

GOOD MAN....I do notice that Tipp and Kilkenny managers are not taking Cork lightly.
They know hurling.

In the ladies perhaps. As for the men's game we will be doing well if we get to the All ireland q/f as for the footballers...well I'd say getting to the Munster final and putting up a good fight against kerry would be seen as progress

I disagree. ...with hurlers I have high hopes for this team.

Still.with all this negativity from supporters...could be viewed as a contrarian indicator. ...and we could be in for pleasant surprise.

Colm O' Neill has to be credited. Recovered from 3 cruciate ligament injuries, and week in week out plays out of his skin. Great to see from an amateur player.
Likewise, Pat Horgan. Has played for many years as a top performer. Had a few sub par performance, but bounced back with a superlative display against Tipp.
Players like this deserve support.
Football will never be followed like hurling is in Cork, but the fact that over 8,000 turned up for the Tipp game indicates that the Cork hurling support is well and truly humming.

Rockies, I freely admit I didn't expect anything out of the Tipp game and was very pleasantly surprised at the performance & result,
However read what Kingston himself said, he acknowledges the game meant more to Cork than Tipp. In other words if Tipp needed to win it they would have won it.
We do seem to be making a bit of progress and I'm delighted about that but the sensible thing is to keep a lid on it & celebrate when we have some silverware on the shelf.
Mouthing off & bragging at this stage is simply foolish & just setting ourselves up for a fall,

Well....being pessimistic in the face of good results and reading your own interpretations into Kingston's statements is extremely negative.
Get on board..follow your team and wave the red and white flag. You'll be happier.

John Cleary should have been appointed with Paudie Kissane as no 2

100% correct pat, of course that would have been a great appointment but the Cork County Board is a law unto itself.
