You keep saying over-hyped but don't explain why you think it's over-hyped. Have you seen a game ?

But their bubble was well and truly burst yesterday by the Welsh and they're in for another hiding next week.
There won't be much in the papers after that or on RTE

Only problem there is your maths
It was 9 and a half hours
Overload to the extreme
not even a break for news it had to be a record of some sort.

Why would there have to be a break for the news?
What would be wrong with 9.5 hours of coverage?

2 one sided games to boot. How many were at that 20's game? Few hundred? If that's the criteria for showing sport on RTÉ they'll have to show most club games from around the country. But at least we won a game in November that's the main thing. Not getting spanked by an average wales team on Friday night, that doesn't matter.

Since when has the match attendance at a game determined whether it gets coverage on tv or not?

Only game in the world that a practice match win in november means more than the championship..
Over hyped bull

Look you dont get it. Rugby internationals are called test matches. Theyre the ultimate test within the sport. They are not practice games. You dont know anything about rugby if you think the november games only exist to pay the pro game. You cannot compare GAA challenge matches compared to rugby international test matches

I think any person in their right mind would feel 9 and a half hours of any one sport on one channel without a break is ridiculous.

Well considering Ireland's patchy performances in the Six Nations, the test results last Autumn now have some of the gloss taken off them.

Ormondbannerman,
You were the one saying that they deserve the tv coverage as they got big sell out crowds in dubbary park. About 2,000 people. Be more at a decent club championship game. If you see nothing wrong with Irish rugby at the moment then your part of the problem. Convinced of your own superiority. Why has rugby not grown in real terms outside its traditional base in the last 15 years of "unbelievable success". If anything it's going backwards. But you believe rte and the times, a win after 100 years over a team in a non competitive game in another continent as part of a money raising exercise is your measure of success, then Ireland are flying. Forget about losing to Scotland, wales and probably get walloped by England at home next week. Roll on the lions, an invitational tour just list the barbarians only different. A critical voice is always needed. Wether you agree or not on an anyonomus GAA forum is irrelevant. Rugby in this country is massively overhyped and and very short on results.

Certainly looks to me thay they rested on the laurels of that win too much and forgot that the All Blacks beat them at home 2 weeks later.

no it isnt. RTE covers all sports. If RTE was a rugby station then how is it that it shows year on year much more GAA than rugby?
And next year even less rugby will be shown. No live rugby bar maybe some club AIL games. No 6Ns, pro12, champions cup/champions cup highlights."
Happy days!
