Dublin v Tyrone Semi-Final

Replying To realdub:  "There's a lot of respect for Tyrone here in Dublin, despite what you might think. They're a feared foe, a team we love to beat, and the atmosphere is up there with the best. Neutrals I'd say are sick to the stomach of watching Dublin/Kerry/Mayo.
You're perception of the Dublin fans/teams is influenced by a handful of yobs behind the goal on Hill 16, a Dublin 'based' media run by culchies and a couple of posters on a form."
Not at all realdub. I have Dubs in my extended family; they are great fellas and very committed to their side. Dublin took some really sore results between 1995 and 2011 and the loyalty of their fanbase during that time can only be admired. I was one of the first on HS to post my congratulations when they won their first All Ireland in 16 years so I have no agenda whatsoever. However I DO think since then success has bred an arrogance and sense of entitlement in SOME Dublin fans who now think they have a God given right to win. I also believe the GAA, now driven by the corporate dollar, has bought into the economic power of Dublin and consequently has lost focus as an Association. Joe Brolly and Colm O'Rourke made reference to this several times on the Sunday Game at the weekend. I also think a different winner this year would be a massive boost to the Association outside of Croke Park, Dublin and Kerry.

If Dublin get any more than 3 points in front I think the game is over. Tyrone look good at the moment but their play is extremely one paced and predictable in my opinion and they don't look capable of producing a burst of brilliance and destroying teams like Dublin can. They won't be able to keep up with Dublins scoring and also the fact that to beat Dublin they have to win 2 matches the first 45-50 minutes against the first 15 and then the last 20-25 against Dublin's subs.

Are you for real man did you actually watch any of their matches - I would argue that they have probably the biggest aggregate winning margins of any of the remaining teams and probably the fastest counter attack in the game with the strongest defense - one dimensional and one paced ???

The teams they've played against have been poor.

Any team who are well organised defensively would deal with quite well in my opinion. They look good against the opposition they've played against so far against Dublin and the likes it's different game altogether and I don't think they'll be able for them at all.Their attack is quite repetitive in my opinion and they just lack that extra gear.

Tyrone aren't capable of a burst and brilliance and destroying teams? Apart from the 4 championship games this year where they've done exactly that?

The teams they have played have not been great, they've yet to prove themselves against top level oppostion.

Tyrone have met all their targets so far for this year. Dr McKenna Cup winners, place in top eight of league, winning the Ulster Championship and moving past the quarter finals of the All-Ireland. To win the All-Ireland Tyrone have to beat Dublin and possibly Kerry which Mickey Harte has done before and certainly believes he can do it this year. Very much like Dublin Tyrone have done a lot of damage in the last 20 minutes with strong subs coming on. Tyrone have put up scores of 0-22, 1-21, 2-17 and 3-17 and have also conceded a lot less this year. Dublin are still a very good team but this is a 50/50 match as far as I'm concerned.

Tyrone for me. they have serious shades of Donegal 2012 about them. that resilience is there and a very very tight group.Just looking back at the comments regarding the whole team going to mass says a lot about the team bond, everyone is in together.
They have an outstanding defense, a serious counter attack and tremendous pace. they also have a very skilled bunch of players both on the pitch and on the bench and they all have that Tyrone confidence. They also have great pace of the hands and a lot of pace in the loop while ghosting around or behind the defense. Dublin won't have played anything like tyrone in a long time so i feel they'll be ready but tyrone will still shade it.

Them going to mass together just tells me that they think they may need divine intervention to help them beat the Dubs and if they're lucky they might get to meet the real God on the pitch , aka Dermo !

Fair enough Ulsterman, it's just a strong impression myself and others can get from you on here sometimes.

Yea tyrone will give us trouble'no doubt about it..a lot of talk going around about how tyrone have been primed for this dublin semi ever since the draw was made.how this game is everything they've been working towards all year.there going mad for this game in tyrone.thats all well and good.but lets not forget 'do ye think for 1 second the dubs havnt been primed for this themselves.do you think the dubs wont be prepered for the game your going to bring.weve played and beat every system out there.we will have every angle covered twice over.do you think gavin was telling the truth when he says he hasnt even looked at tyrone since the league.dublin know more about tyrone than tyrone know about us.no 2014 ambushes here..dublin to win by 3 to 4 points

Helping a friend try buy tickets for this and there's 3912 people ahead of me and my waiting time is 'more than an hour'. I'd say a lot of people are going to struggle getting tickets for this.

Same here. Alll Hill tickets gone by 10.12 Luckily I have PP. Going to be full house. Place will be heaving. Really looking forward to this. In recent past Tyrone were a team I hated coming up against. Still think Dubs have that little bit more up front now but countering that Tyrones defence is excellent.
Connolly available to play as well. Does Gavin start him or not? Do you bench a player of his calibre. M Harte said in '11 that if he could of made 10 changes he was unmarkable that day.

Going to be long 2.5 weeks.

Yeah I've the season ticket thank God but i know loads of people that are in queues like mine. In 2442 now with a 56 minute wait, not expecting to be successful!

Great to have the double header with the minors in there too.

It is actually gonna be a triple header:

U17 All Irleand Final @ 12
Minor Semi @ 2pm
Senior Semi @ 4pm

Heard of people in an online queue for close to 2hours and then booted out.

Queue in Dorset was more than 100m long.

Definite Sell Out.
