2 Ulster titles this decade, more than the entire Cavan team this century.

I didn't see any warning signs in the Cavan v Monaghan match.
Monaghan won with a it in hand and kicked 15 wides too.
They were clearly the better side.
People sticking the boot into the Monaghan team now is a bit rich.

If Monaghan don't drop the heads like last year they should beat any team in that side of the draw Tyrone just might b waiting in quarters

As much potential as any Cavan man the next 5 years.

Its a tough one to figure out, Cavan played out of their skins and Monaghan still won it while not looking 100%, I suppose everyone just under estimated Down, from us, to the players, the pundits, etc. I myself was saying after the Cavan match that Donegal/Tyrone would make us pay for missing so many wides.

But they kicked plenty of wides today as the did against Longford and Donegal last year.

They have a top top forward in McManus and a young guy with potential in McCarron but he has yet to show it in the big games. Apart from those 2 they have no finishers and kicking wides in double-figures is par for the course with them. The warning signs were very much there against Cavan, but Beggan kicked a 55m free into the wind and McAdam (think it was him) kicked one from an impossible angle. Those pot luck shots won't come off every week.

Ah Jesus it was obviously all the talk of Tyrone in the final including from a well known ex player of ours that got inside the players heads this week so Monaghan should give talking about quarter finals a big miss. For now our level is 2nd round qualifiers and full respect to whoever we get unlike last summer.

Not good for the ticker. Well done to Down. That game reminded me of the 2013 Ulster final except this time we were on the receiving end of a truly committed never say die performance from a team written off. Down were tough, uncompromising and not short on skill too. Harrison took us to the cleaners and his going off helped turn the game in our favour (hope his is not a serious injury)
For us now is a test of character for this squad and how we respond, at least 3 of our starting line up need to be changed for the qualifiers, but now is not the time for that. To the victor goes the spoils

Now come on! I no league means Nahin when it comes to championship but the way Monaghan played against Kerry Mayo Roscommon Donegal and Dublin the team in that side of the draw u have to fancy a quarter final spot!! Might be the best thing happend to that team letting the media get into their heads!

Exceptional effort by the Down men today. Fully deserved the win. Another great contest and who knows, maybe the close games we have had will help to prepare for the task of facing a strong Tyrone in the final.

Absolutely delighted for Down, haven't enjoyed a game as much since our 2014 semi final win over the Dubs, now Down weren't as big a underdogs as we were that day,but everybody was writing Down off and that kind of talk only spurs a team on as we know.
Down were brilliant, fully deserved their victory, hope they go all the way now and beat Tyrone.

Well done to Down, delighted for Burns who has had some tough times since he took over. Monaghan may have underestimated them but they can have few complaints with the result. I think they missed Doogan's workrate - he is a very under-rated player. It's unusual to see the Wylie brothers having such a difficult game. Old forward problems returned with only McManus and, to a lesser extent, McCarron offering a threat.

Well done Down. Great county with a great tradition and it is great to see two different sides in ulster final for first time since 2012. Monaghan were second best all round the park today and that is that. We have had our glory days over past 5 years and this is not one of them and that is he beauty of the Ulster Championship. Embrace the qualifiers Monaghan, try get to a quarter and then try win it. Best of luck Down in the final. And the Cavan boys sprouting on here, don't spend too much money tonight you will regret it in the morning when you do your weekly money count before mass.

beggan should have been allowed to kick that one earlier that Mcmanus took. It was an easy one for Beggan. Why would Mcmanus not let him take it. ??

I don't think anyone saw that coming, but never write off a county with tradition. I suppose Tyrone will be favourites, but it's a game that could well take on a life of its own and could be close.
