Replying To Pinkie:  "Personally I am just looking forward to a good open game of hurling, the excitement in the county is palpable and people are very excited to be back in a Leinster final which we have at least a chance of winning, unlike our last ones against Kilkenny.
A whole bunch of children have never been to a Leinster final, it is great that everybody seems to be going!
I am hoping we can win this, am I confident, no, do I think we can win it, yes. Because I know in a final, anything can happen.
I have great respect for Galway and they are a county I want to see win when we don't. Why they haven't won an AI for nearly 30 years remains the GAA's great enigma.
However, while I respect them, I am hoping that when I get a Supermacs on O'Connell Street that that is where my support of Galway will end until 6 o'clock!
May the best team win."
What will the attendance be? Could we get over 40,000? It'll add to the occasion if that happens.

I suppose being as it is such a novel final it has captured the imagination a bit. Especially in Wexford. Big crowd expected for the final and the fact that's there's still a week to go... it'll get ramped up to the hilt yet.

How the game will go, hard to call. The favourites tag doesn't sit particularly well with us but you do have to embrace it and welcome it. There will not be a lot in it. Davy will have his homework done, but so will Donoghue. I think at this stage, with the momentum we have I think we will just sneak home.

It's important to get the win though. The backdoor looks even more stacked than usual this year... that's an absolute minefield...

I disagree The_DOC, I think most of them are just having the craic like the rest of us. There's almost a palpable sense of relief from both counties that we're not playing a red hot Kilkenny in the final, so there's a bit of confidence in both Galway & Wexford, and a bit of mutual admiration.

And who knows, a Wexford victory might see the return to sobriety of 'Jim from Wexford' who slabbered on about Gods I think it was after a Hurling match a good few years ago with a tank full of porter, and has been hanging his head in shame since!

Incorrect Galway have not won a senior hurling All Ireland title since 1988
Sorry for upsetting you DOC, maybe if you and Marty McFly get into the delorean and set the year to 1988 you might get to watch Galway win a senior hurling All Ireland final.

Based on what I have heard, there will be 40k from Wexford alone!!! As somebody said, literally everybody is going. Joking aside, I think there will be over 50k at this. It being a novel pairing, Wexford people would believe we can beat Galway, if we were playing Kilkenny we would have been beaten before we even got into the car! That alone will swell the attendance.

Also it being 9 years since we were in a final, a lot of people will be bringing children, etc to the match. In fact, in my local GAA club, all I hear about is "I am Liam Ryan, I am Conor Mc", etc, etc.

Gonna be a cracker!

It is a novel pairing, great for neutrals like me. There will be huge Wexford support, and a big Galway crowd also.
Good luck to both teams.

hurlorhurley, if we attempt to go at 88mph back to '88 the cops will have us and we'll miss everything.
Even getting to 88kph on the roads around here is difficult.

Maybe you could do the same and set it for the last time Wexford beat a "good" Kilkenny team perhaps ?

Galway will surely bring 20k +. If there was 50k there I'd nearly go myself. Could be a cracker.

I'm sure he meant Camogie or Football. Any hurling man knows it was 88 when they won the last. Either that or he's new to watching the game. Give the man a break :D

The sooner we send Wexford packing, the better. Sure those strawberries won't pick & sell themselves on the roadside to the hungry lorry drivers on the N25 hitting for Rosslare.
