Cork vs Tipp (Hurling)

Replying To eaglehaslanded:  "On my way to Tipp, not confident, but not on the same wavelength as some of my counties "rabbit"posters! It's Tipp v Cork.....like Tripe & Drisheen!!! 15 red shirts will try to emulate heroes of the past......with 5 kindergarten hopefuls. Rather than keep knocking those committed Corkmen, let's give them our backing and not adhere to the endless Bunnybashing negative bashing of our proud county."
Yes..I agree with the post from eagle. It may be true that only a handful of counties can win All-Ireland, but that is true in all sports. It doesn't stop Ireland competing for World Cup, or teams like Leicester competing for premiership. I like watching hurling and especially my own county. I will like seeing players like Luke Meade and Shane Kingston develop, and the thrill of the competition never goes stale. The Munster championship may be on it's deathbed, being replaced by Champions League round robin format next year, but it has given great Cork and Tipp games down through the years. Today, will be no different. I think this is a decent Cork team, and anyone who is not excited about a Cork/Tipp championship game has something lacking in their psyche. I watched Cork/Tipp games even when Cork were slaughtered back in 1964/1965....roll on 2017.

Good post. You're love of hurling and Cork is clear. Munster championship is still going to be around for many years yet though.

James Owens having a poor game, definitely giving Tipp the 50:50 decisions. How did Tipp No2 escape a yellow card.

Thank you Cork & Tipp for one of the greatest games of all time, Cork deserved winners. 56 scores nearly all from play. Thankfully hurling is still keeping the Gaa alive compared to the borefest in Castlebar. If only every Sunday could produce that, skill, honesty, manliness, football has a lot to learn from this.

It wasn't started or supported by Tipp posters anyway. Sure start it up again if you miss it so much.

Well done to Cork on a great performance and victory. Cork vs Waterford will be some contest.

Well done Cork. The improvement this season has been dramatic especially the shooting and the will to battle for every ball was a joy to behold. The management has worked a miracle in turning around confidence / attitude whilst pinpointing some exciting new talent. Still only the first round but a great display.

What percentage of Tipp posters on this thread were saying Tipp were unbeatable? From the start of the thread, Tipp posters were saying we could get beat.

While I'm disappointed by today's result, it was a great Cork performance, they were phenomenal.

I was right. I knew Cork would win it. Great game!

What a game - Glad for Cork as they needed that lift. Tip will still be there in August.

Calm down chief. It wasn't a Tipp man that set up that thread, but the thread was saying Tipp are gonna cruise through the year. Not sure where it's gone. Admin must have deleted it.

You can't beat tradition in gaa.Cork hurlers have done nothing at underage for years and yet they find a few young players and produce an outstanding performance like that against the All-Ireland champions.
