Dublin v Tyrone Semi-Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The hunger and developing skill in Tyrone will give Dublin a great test and I believe it's all up for grabs. Dublin have it easy and with last 2 AI in the bag won't be as hungry as Tyrone ( hunger young Mulgrew showed today) Cluxton under serious pressure to find his teammates will fluster as he did against Kerry as Graham Geraghty said and Tyrone now know they can finish for goal. Dublin remain favourites but only just and any analysis of theMonaghan game shows they are beatable. Bring it on

The good stuff is only starting now with fixtures like this. Tyrone will be well up for this and no doubt Mickey Harte will have some tricks up his sleeve.

I hope it's Mayo Vs Kerry in the other one. I don't Roscommon are ready just yet but are moving in the right direction.

Should be a very interesting game which may even be settled by the most effective management team on the day

Could be. Dubs might just give you a game yet though!

Obvious he will, I didn't think I had to explicitly say it. Dublin are favourites so Harte will have to figure out a way of beating them. I won't be surprised if Tyrone pull this off. Two great managers, it should be a fascinating tactical battle.

Neither team has had to get out of 2nd gear yet so it is hard to judge them.

It'll be close and could go either way and the winners will be well set up for the final against Kerry or Mayo

don't know, by all the chat Dublin should be well capable of seeing off the upstarts, just saying what odds in bookies on Monday for tyrone mayo final or even a wee tyrone mayo double in the semis, worth £20???

Tyrone still need another prolific scoring forward or two to compete with this Dublin side who have an abundance of options in the forward 6. Harte's team of 10 years ago would I believe have beaten this current Dublin outfit but Tyrone just don't have that star quality and Canavan/Mulligan/O'Neill brilliance to turn a tie like this. Dublin by 5+.

Not even remotely a betting man but there'd be value in that bet for sure!!! I think both sets of supporters think they'll win this as will both teams. I believe it will come down to the line and who tactically gets the edge. Harte is a master technician. Gavin, however, is no slouch in that department himself. Fascinating!

After yesterday's games I would say Dublin hold all the aces.

Both teams tackling and defensive set-ups are unreal, if an opposing forward has the ball in hand for more than 2 seconds he is swamped and dispossesed. That's where truly great forwards make the difference, guys who can win the ball, turn and shoot and score before the tackles hit.

And that's where the winning of the game could be for Dublin, better quality of forward based on what we have seen so far.

Although something tells me Lee Brennan could be Mickey's secret weapon.

Here's hoping!

Can't wait for the 27th!!! Should be epic.
Tyrone and Dublin done what they had to do yesterday.
One small thing I've noticed and I wonder what the Dubs think. (Don't go off on one Dubs, just an observation).
Dean Rock played excellent yesterday, kicked everything in sight. However he takes an age to kick a free kick. Well over a minute. The crowd were getting frustrated-even a few Dubs beside me said he takes too long.

Cant see Tyrone winning this one. Fancy Dublin by 6 points. At least Tyrone or Dublin wont lie down and die, They wont be beaten before they go onto the pitch which means this here will be absolutely nail biting and exciting right until the end.

People keep on about Tyrones lack of scoring forwards. Every man in the team apart from the full back line is capable of splitting the posts with regularity. I think that's more advantageous as one or two star men can be marked out or have an off day.
I would love us to do another demolition job obviously but Dublin won't lie down like all the other teams we've faced this year so far.
Tight match but for the first time in a good few years I fancy us to pull away at the end and win by three or four.
