Replying To Soma:  "The changes for next year are much bigger than people realise and are really poorly thought out. The competition is to be played between June and August and any player who has been listed for a senior intercounry championship game that season is not eligible. A competition where some players are ineligible because they are effectively too good I think is a rubbish idea."
I agree, so tell me this if your under 20 next year for Dublin but Jim Gavin wants you to play senior is it a choice or he has to play underage ?

Your right , however the reason this has been done is to counter act college , county and club , the biggest advocate of this change has been Dessie Farrel as someone who is as close as you will ever get to that age group I personally would bow to his superior knowledge experience on the subject.

It would be a choice of doing one or the other, but once knocked out of u20 a player would be free to play senior. It's very unlikely to have much impact on Dublin where it would be rare for a lad u20 to be playing senior intercounry championship but it does mean smaller counties will not be fielding their best side. Having it on during the summer will reduce the exposure games get as well, it works very well now with the semi and final between the end of the league and start of the championship. I know it was done to protect players but it will reduce the quality and prestige.

Really looking forward to this game. I haven't seen Dublin play this year but by all accounts they are a quality outfit. I expect a cracking atmosphere in Tullamore and a tight game.

Listening to galway radio their, the galway manager didn't sound too convincing that they have got the players back down from the high of the Kerry game.Could be
similar to what happened kerry v galway i just hope galway turn up from the start. As said by an other poster it is set up for dublin, very little being said about them which is ideal.just got my ticket €20 well as the slogan goes
"nothing beats being there"

Best of luck to both team today, especially Dublin. Its hard to see beyond Galway to be honest, but we will be competitive and you need to be there to have a chance. Safe journey to all.

2002 Final Galway 0-15 Dublin 0-7 What is your GAA knowledge based on?

Dubs are playing well, don't think Galway have much of a hope here.

Said it tongue in cheek big lad. But I do think Dublin will win. Just the way of it. Once in a blue moon Galway will grow a set and beat Dublin.....as you said 2002.....15 years ago. You know it as well.
Hope I'm wrong, would be great to see Galway win
