Kerry v Mayo

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Moran should have had a free there. Somebody said earlier that ref was favouring Kerry. I'm not seeing that at all. I think he's been fair enough to both teams and Mayo are doing plenty pulling and dragging and have conceded many frees.

Andy Moran gave an exhibition today. One of the best corner forward displays I've ever seen.

What Conor Loftus did at teh end (waiting for the ball to come to him) was simply atrocious, he's unbelievably lucky Kerry didn't score the free.

What a joke, there should have been at least another minute of stoppage time for all the delays during the 5 minutes.

Great game, Mayo had more chances to win it and didn't. I don't think its a case of anyone missing the boat in this one, same again next Saturday, can't wait. Special mention to Andy Moran, to have the game of his life at his age is worth admiring.
Well done to both sides for the commitment and excitement.

How did Kerry get out of there with a draw??? Very average team with a couple of standout players. Mayo were much the better team. Moran, parsons and mcloughlin were superb. Some very soft frees kept Kerry ticking over when they were struggling.

How Mayo didn't win that was beyond me, Kerry absolutely there for the taking. No team like Mayo to grab a draw from the jaws of victory.

Great game though, fair play to both teams. Kerry very cynical, strategic fouling, sly digs and the occasional melees.

Mayo can feel agrevived with the refs performence with cards that should have been given, line balls and general frees awarded.

Surely Kerry won't be that bad again. Their excellent forwards and game management kept them in the championship today!

Given the way it was ending, he was always gonna blow for a draw when level at end of injury time.

Wonder did Mayo leave it behind them today though .?

Can't see Kerry being that poor next day out.

Fair play to the Mayo lads.
Some resilience.

Another classic next Sat in store...

Great game, really enjoyed it. Mayo were much the better team but just didn't finish the job. The goals against Mayo were once again a killer, they had possession in both instances. Andy Moran had a brilliant game and find it hard to believe Fitzmaurice didn't switch markers. AOS did a reasonable job on Donaghy I felt as it negated the option of the high ball in.

I was disappointed with Kerry as I thought they would win the All-Ireland this year. But even if they can overcome Mayo I can see the winners of Tyrone/Dublin will run through their defence.

Definitely, he held up play and in the process stopped a quick Mayo free in injury time when he fell on his arse.

Great game, fair play to Mayo, they are never beaten.

Will the replay be in Tralee or Killarney? We hardly expect Kerry to have to make the long trip to Limerick again this time.

I'll throw Kerry as winners now. Mayo played their best and couldn't do it. I think Kerry will learn more from this, unless O'Shea gets used better....

Agreed. The free took a good minute to take. Ref was always going to blow in that situation though.
Mayo have delivered more excitement in the last 5 years than any team. They should've gotten over the line today. I really hope they manage it next Saturday.

Great match. Well done Mayo and Kerry. But have Mayo let their chance slip? I hope not.

Two wild shots aside Donaghy was brilliant today. Such a clever player!

What a game of football in less than ideal conditions If Loftus had come and got the ball of Parsons and given the return who knows what might have happened Can't stand still and wait for the ball in a game like that Hopefully lesson learned But again an outstanding game of football I think Mayo GAA is trying to kill me Bloody replays
