A plea to Connacht counties.

Develop our own brand of gaelic football.Drop this prissy,namby-pamby basketball thing. It's not working for us.It doesn't suit our genes. It was foisted on us in the mid 70s by the two fancy counties for their own ends and they've been laughing at us ever since.
If we are the "men of the West",we should play like men of the West.Good old fashioned blood and thunder,up 'n at 'em catch and kick.First time clearance from defence.Bombard the fullback from every angle and distance. That kind of stuff.
At least then ,if we lose,we lose on our terms.
And if any Connacht team brings Sam across,I'll be straight down to join the celebrations.

Thats right,doublehop-if. We would have to contemplate the possibility of an occassional defeat.

Fair play will have to get a look at the Nestor Cup over the past couple of years to see whos name is on it. Wonder where I'll find it

Do away with the connacht championship ta hell.

Who really cares about it ? Sad to see Roscommon and Galway invading the pitch after winning it imo.

Ya sure no point in the supporters showing emotion after winning or any of that nonsense. The plexiglass covering Hill 16 should be implemented everywhere so fans all get stuck longingly looking at the grass below them

Yeah whats the point in fans showing emotion at all why should they celebrating anything at all. Sounds like we all should be stuck in the local lamenting the 80s.

Should follow Hill 16s example with the plexiglass and have it displayed across every stadium in the country that would sort that out

Clearly you don't care about it. You're in a miniscule minority.

OverBlackSpot did you invade the pitch as Roscommon defeated Cavan in the league this year as well ? You prob didnt as yer torture in Div.1 was over at that stage.

Hardly what i would call a pitch invasion after the Cavan game, The players stayed on the pitch to meet kids and take photos with them. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Sad to see? thats total nonsense! Galway and Roscommon both with young developing teams won their first provincial titles since 2008 and 2010 and the celebrated like it should have been celebrated. Monaghan did likewise when they won Ulster in 2013 and Donegal 2011 can't even imagine the celebations to had if Kerry or Dublin were to be toppled in Leinster and Munster.

Maybe if Mayo go 6 or 7 years without winning the Nestor cup they might celebrate it also as at the end of the day it a cup won and medal in the back pocket. Mayo can only achieve that this summer by winning Sam. For the record two years of an expensive management team of McEntee,Buckley and Rochford no medal won for the players yet that got rid of the last management team not even FBD or NFL medal.

What are you on about? Mayo have been told for years Connacht and NFL medals are worthless. Also when did we start counting FBD winners medals?

Told by whom? Success breeds success winning medals is never worthless. All of Mayos wins this summer v Derry,Cork,Clare and Roscommon will be fairly worthless if Mayo don't end up with a medal this summer.

Nonsense really, even Kerry fans invade the pitch after winning Munster, im sure the dubs would do the same if allowed in Leinster.

Might be a another few years before the likes of Roscommon get the chance.
