Pitch Encroachment

(Oldest Posts First)

What are the rules about who is allowed onto the pitch? Maor uisce, and dochtiur? I don't see anywhere it says the manager and his selector can run onto the pitch whenever it pleases them.
McGuinness and co did this in the all Ireland last year and were at it again today. No business being on the pitch. Should be sent to the stands for such behaviour in my opinion.

Every time the ref blew the whistle, the Donegal manager and selector were in on the field. Ridiculous!!

Honestly was about to set up a thread about this exact issue, You don't see it from many other managers, But McGuinness is always at it. When we went up to Ballybofey back in April , He came on to the middle of the pitch. Its unacceptable, He should stay on the touchline and that's it, If not your right he (Or any other manager in breach of that) should be sent to the stand.

Agree, I commented it on just there on the Donegal v Tyrone thread, Ridiclous..I dont know why mangers dont take up a seat in stands like the Cork Manager, Counihan. See way more, have a better view.

Yes 100% agree!! Sent up to the stands and if they break it fined and a suspension for a couple of matches in the stand. You send 15 lads out there to do the business not to join them. Only Doctors, Physio's and Maor Usice!!

Its tactical and its has the purpose of influencing the mindset of the officials. Its also im pretty sure illegal but to date has gone unpunished.

And its about time the refs started dishing out yellow cards for players not being back 13mts
from free kicks. Only seems 1 county does it. Plus how many yards did ref move the ball forward
for free which led to the first goal.

Referees do need to penalise with 13m more often. They do it in rugby and aussie rules and it really punishes a team for indiscipline

A former mayo freetaker used to steal about seven yards when he took frees especially from tight angles on the right, O neill did the same today.
So maybe donegal are 13 mtrs from where the free should be ?

Donegal are experts on Encroachment, anytime their player is fouled,2,3 bodies from sideline are running onto before referees blows for foul. This puts pressure on referee to issue a card.Rory Gallagher Donegal selector is the main culprit. Was roaring in linesman ear throughout game today, was at same stuff in league game against Dublin.Havent seen CCC take any action against him before.

Stop the press. Did this really happen. Surely it would have made news headlines.
A Donegal official ran onto the field of play over 20 months ago. Groundbreaking revelation.
Next thing you will be telling us thst Darren o sullivan once took 5 steps before a solo in an u-21 match.
