Wouldn't it be great if they actually told us.

They heard Brolly was involved. Shat the togs. Lifted the Ban. Should have got Joe to mention Conor Murray's name while he was in and he could have got him available to play as well - missed opportunity lads!! Just highlights again a lack of control from the CCCC/CHC Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 18/05/2017 09:45:59 1987815 Link 0 |
No better way to prepare for a big Championship game eh. bumpernut (Antrim) - Posts: 1852 - 18/05/2017 10:11:13 1987829 Link 0 |
according to legal representative Brolly, "the appeal was thrown out on the well known legal basis that it was complete bollocks" i know Joe is Joe, but it doesn't sound like a victory via technicality. SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2385 - 18/05/2017 10:42:20 1987841 Link 0 |
Maybe Brolly can represent every player at a hearing there would be no bans!! Class!! WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 18/05/2017 11:35:59 1987863 Link 0 |

Frank Murphy has been doing it for years, just like John Bailey of Dublin, so nothing new to see here.

I would take that comment with a pinch of salt. Out of curiosity are the people in these different bodies amateurs (don't mean that as a term of abuse, just are they doing it in their spare time)? Because if they are it is probably expected that with all the i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed that mistakes will be made especially when challenged by a legal professional who is doing this full time. Unfair fight! Just from my own time as a club secretary licking stamps took hours out of my weekend......hard to find time for 5, 10 15 year plans when your licking 500 stamps:-) Mayonman (Galway) - Posts: 1825 - 18/05/2017 14:47:38 1987976 Link 0 |
Brolly's words are totally apt. The 'incident' has been posted online today and it's a joke, a nothing handbags pushing incident and that's it. Brolly thought he had received the wrong clip so innocuous is it. This is plain embarrassing for the GAA particularly the CCCC. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9696 - 18/05/2017 22:44:34 1988156 Link 0 |
It's a long time since John Bailey had anything to do with Dublin GAA. As for the ban that was given, it wasn't given for the incident as such, but for lying to/misleading an investigation, and unfortunately the minimum suspension for that, rightly or wrongly, is 48 weeks. Thankfully common sense has prevailed for Fitzpatrick, but it would have been much better if Brolly had said why or how the ban was rescinded rather than going for a witty soundbite and leaving everyone still guessing what the hell happened. Just watched the clip and really can't believe that is what all the fuss has been about. The sort of thing that goes on week in, week out across the Country in every game. I thought with all the ensued that it was some sort of brawl or unsavoury incident which was so bad that the law makers were determined it deserved to be punished hence pulling him up 3 times on the incident. But for that? Wise up!!! Offside_Rule (Antrim) - Posts: 4058 - 19/05/2017 09:04:52 1988215 Link 0 |

its incredible how incompetent these people are.the best games in the world with the worst administrators? kavvie (Clare) - Posts: 505 - 19/05/2017 10:43:04 1988259 Link 0 |
Professional administrators making amateurish decisions about amateur players, who train and play like professionals and their blood, sweat and tears pay the professional administrators wages.

Apparently they had the video that was used in the 3rd hearing when he was up the second time. bumpernut (Antrim) - Posts: 1852 - 19/05/2017 13:59:50 1988344 Link 0 |
Ah the old GAA La Cosa Nostra - where you daren't challenge anyone in a position on importance (where the degree of importance is in the eye of the beholder rather than actual importance) or if you do be prepared to suffer the consequence, no matter how far reaching. As Brolly alludes to in his interview this was more than just the incident with the player and whatever had gone on before in the previous meetings had obviously put a few noses out of joint with vengeance then being the order of the day and the player becoming the pawn in it all. Ha - I have no doubt of that whatsoever. Doesn't excuse the path it took though and them using Fitzpatrick as a pawn.
