Big loss alright - conversely nothing coming out of the Kerry camp as per usual! They could all be injured and you'd know nothing about it, which is frustrating when your a supporter but maybe it's a good thing at times like this.
No one seems to know if JOD's substitution at half time was because of picking up a knock or simply that he wasn't getting into the game enough.

Usually all would be quiet out of our camp too but it'd be hard to keep something like this under wraps I would imagine!

McGrath is supposedly a doubt too, would really favour Kerry if we're missing both.

Balls! The injury to Eoghan Ban is serious by all accounts and his season is over. What a pity as he has grown into one of our most influential players. He would have relished the big test in Croke Park this weekend but sadly it's not to be.

We can't cry too much though when you look at the injuries Mayo have suffered. It'll be up to the man coming in to somehow try and fill Eoghan's boots. I'm thinking our other Eogahn (McHugh) might be in line? He has shown good form in his appearances this year and crucially also offers blistering pace.

I must say I find Donegal fans to be cagey about this game, most of the people on here saying Donegal will win are not from Donegal. I've friends up there from college and they are reluctant to call it either way.

It was the same in 2014. Donegal were supposedly only travelling to collect the Sam Maguire but all the bluster and hype was coming from anti Kerry people who were dying to see us beaten. Donegal fans are very level headed and passionate about their team in my experience.

JOD had more hamstring trouble and they took him off as a precaution is what I heard.

Eoghan would be the natural replacement going forward but he wouldn't be a natural defender.

These things happen & can sometimes bring the squad closer with everyone realising that they have to produce a bit more to make up for the loss.

Will that man every again get a run of games at full fitness I wonder - what must it all be doing to him mentally :(

Eoin Ban is another huge loss to Donegal, like Durkan last week these guys are irreplaceable. Such a pity , was also looking forward to him and White racing after each other at some stage ,it would of been some sight.

Shame about Gallagher, hope he recovers soon. Counties who make it this far need to modify training drills to protect players while still keeping them loose, what a calamity.

I'd be surprised to see Eoin come in to the half-back line. I do see him starting for his pace and running ability but in the half-forwards. I think we're more likely to see Daire O'Baoil or Leo come in to the half-backs as a replacement. Both very different players, O'Baoil has the running ability but Leo has the experience.

If Paddy McGrath is out too then you could see both in there, or else Eamon Doherty to do more of a man-marking job. Caolan Ward and Paul Brennan options as well.

We've good depth and good talent there as replacements but no doubt that EBG is one of our star players and a huge loss.

Yeah McHugh wouldn't be as natural a defender. But look this is what squads are for and where management earn their corn. It's a huge loss for sure but like you say it'll be up to the others to negate the loss.

Kboy reckons it's psychological and at this stage I wouldn't rule it out. Either that or he is completely and utterly hexed. If he got a run of a season or so without injury he could still be very good. All these niggly things disrupt form and training etc.

Would it not make more sense to have this game in Pearse Stadium? It is about halfway between both counties, on the western seaboard?. Fixing Croke Park as a neutral venue, for counties like Donegal, Mayo, Kerry, is unfair on supporters in those counties, they have to travel across the country to the game, with all the expense and time involved. Last year Galway played Kerry in Croke Park, another huge trip for supporters.
Regarding the result, Kerry might just get a narrow win.

This is as worse than losing Paddy last year. Eoghan Ban is amazing. Croke Park would have suited him.

EBG being out for Donegal opens things up nicely now for Dublin, Mayo crippled with injuries Donegal picking up injuries Kerry picking up injuries.

Dublin players never seem to get injured and ye got Connolly and o'carroll back.

The chasing is falling away slowly but surely.

You might not realise it but Galway is further from most of Donegal than Dublin.I am sure both counties would rather play in Croke Park.

Massive blow for donegal.

A speed merchant who can play.

Apart from Dublin every other county needs a full deck

Given what a nightmare Galway is for traffic etc I'd say most Kerry fans would rather travel the well known route to Croker, even with the new motorway up there from Limerick
