Kerry Vs Tyrone

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Always a game that guarantees a fight or two, Kerry will start very slow in the beginning of this game but will gain a bit of momentum as the match goes on; with a new manager and alot of youth it will take time to get some rhythm going. Tyrone are currently in good form and will have some confidence within themselves after winning the McKenna cup. See a decent match but think Tyrone will win this one at the end.
Tyrone +4

I don't know much about where Tyrone are at but it will be a severely depleted Kerry side next Sunday.

Home advantage and a new boss to impress will hopefully give Kerry a lift. It would be great to get a few points in the bag early. If I was a betting man I'd go with Tyrone though.

Kerry's new squad for 2019 have very little to no football played together, it's gym and conditioning work at the moment. Moreover, the Kerry side to play Tyrone will be a hobbled together with what's available and given Tyrone are further down the road at this time of year and in their overall development as a team under Mickey Harte I'd expect them to win. It will be a successful league for Kerry if we manage to retain our division 1 status and it's a tall order.

Hard to disagree with the views of my esteemed fellow Kerry posters.
I think it would be a bit of a shock if Kerry won this game, the first three rounds of the League will be tough going for us.

Aye right lads Tyrone will go down to Killarney and Kerry will lye down and roll over pull the other one. Kerry players will be well revved up to face Tyrone. Whatever Kerry team is put out they will have done plenty of work on the training field under your new manager Kerry players will be mad keen to impress Peter Keane. And lets not forget you have some under age talent coming through with 5 All-Ireland Minor Titles in a row. Tyrone won the McKenna cup a pre season tournament but we only had a handful of regular players playing in each game, a lot of new younger players where given game time. Tyrone will be facing a massive battle on Sunday against Kerry. I'll be their anyway hopefully be can be competitive.

Kerry would be favourites for this. Tyrone have an awful record in Kerry.

I seen some Kerry posters talking about the players they lost but none of them would be certain starters, most of them are in the twilight of their careers and probably better in the long run they haven't been asked back.

New manager will bring a determination to get a place for the championship. Kerry have an excellent forward line. Defence may be a bit suspect.

Hopefully Tyrone can get the two points. I would take a draw.

I would take that with a pinch of salt.

No matter the occasion. A league game down in Kerry will always bring players on and a win in any circumstances from Tyrone's point of view would be a great boost for the year ahead.

I think it'll be a good weekend for Ulster football

I see both Dublin and Kerry dropping points

Great games ahead.. sick to my back teeth of opening the paper and seeing nothing but soccer or negativitie news articles relating to GAA

Time for some decent matches again and some quality entertainment

The leagues are great entertainment and as a neutral I'm very much looking forward to this game.

Kerry v Tyrone! What's not to like..

A win would be a great start for Tyrone. I always think getting the points to stay in the division is the key aim. If you get them early then you can think about reaching the final.

We haven't fielded our best team yet but I think our players will be further on than Kerry this year despite the holiday in Thailand. The Armagh game will have sharpened us up. It's a great time to be playing Kerry but despite our poor record away there, I'm hopeful of a win. It's going to a big weekend anyhow.

I see its not on TV. I wonder if Kerry GAA do a live stream? Tyrone GAA did a few games last year, they would make alot of money if they did.

No chance. Tv rights are sorted out for the league. Individual county boards cant show games.

All the Dublin games will be shown live and the only Kerry game scheduled to be shown live is their game against Dublin. Not sure for Tyrone. We're all equal officially of course but some are more equal than others. Money talks.

When it comes to expensive TV rights it does alright..

Spend big to win big. It's all about attracting the maximum audience from their investment.

Dublin matches have always done well for the broadcasters so they are in the business of bringing in viewing numbers and selling prime advertising in and around those games (commercial revenue)

It makes sense. It's how it works.

Yerra surely lads the penny (pardon the pun) has dropped for all of us at this stage.
It's not the GAA anymore its D-GAA :D

Nice game to start for both teams to get the gander up.
Hopefully we can start with a win so the overall pressure on young lads getting a run wont be too much of a burden in the following games.

One thing I hope to see change is that players that are performing well in the league will hold their places. In some massive league battles under Fitzmaurice some younger lads were a colossus and then just thrown aside for more experienced lads when it counted afterwards.
When in form you should hold your spot.

Also a big year for both James O Donoghue and Paul Geaney...Geaney was non existent after the Munster final and James O D has lost his sparkle for the last 3 years. He really needs a big year.

Anyone know if there's radio coverage of the match? Teamtalk Tyrone? Radio Kerry?
