Congratulations to Kerry's Dr Crokes on winning the All-Ireland Senior Football Club Championship! legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7758 - 17/03/2017 20:37:57 1967980 Link 4 |
It was galling to see a county like Kerry with such tradition in playing good football resorting to " Puke Football" in the second half. This tactic in the last few minutes of keeping the ball by spraying passes across the field using the extra man and keeping possession must be difficult for proud Kerry people to watch. Winning is all that matters but Kerry over the years are used to winning but winning with style and charisma not with what we saw today townbuck (Leitrim) - Posts: 197 - 17/03/2017 20:52:17 1967990 Link 4 |

Congrats to Crokes. Finally got there by playing like an Ulster side, and adopting those tactics as if they were invented in Killarney! jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20587 - 17/03/2017 21:11:30 1967998 Link 1 |

No congrats for Cuala? jimbodub (Dublin) Waffle for the sake of waffle. You'll have to ask that of the hurling community. The Kerry connection was a Kerryman on both teams. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7758 - 17/03/2017 21:52:21 1968010 Link 2 |

You can't say that definitely Fionn as the game would have played out differently

I'm curious what you think they should have done instead since SN had a wall of men back. Run in contact? Launch a high ball into a blanket defense?

Half a GAA man from the Kerry rural region.

Fionn is correct. The Derry side were the best footballing side. Refereeing was questionable in my opinion. The amount of head high tackles that went unpunished (on McKeague) in the first 15 minutes was unbelievable to watch. I do not put any blame on Crokes for playing keep ball in the last 10minutes as any experienced side would do the same with a extra man. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2340 - 18/03/2017 11:20:52 1968087 Link 0 |
Kerry is a stronghold of Gaelic football. So it is nice to see an area where football is number 1 to win. Tough luck on Slaughtneil. Mid Ulster is also a GAA stronghold. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2513 - 18/03/2017 13:20:17 1968119 Link 0 |
